In support of my partner in crime who is away on vacation I tried to watch the episode. Could not sit through after the initial 10 minutes or so. It was painful to watch.

My take: People should not become parents unless they are ready to trust the kid (boy or girl) from young age. Whether the kids are given excessive affection or luxury - does not matter. They should be believed and the communication between kids and parents should be open. Wonder why even educated parents cannot do this.

Great picture Thushi.

PS: If I am not mistaken Aamir Khan had also aired an episode on this topic - right ?

JJ, its nice of you to drop by. I'm not even going to attempt to watch last night's episode. Thanks for trying.
I agree with your thoughts. Parents should realise that their presence is required for their children and not presents. That's when communication channels are established.

Hi Guys,

So I finally watched the epi last night. Granted it was painful and emotional, but somehow I sstuck though the whole episode.

Pranadhika comes from a well known, wealthy and influential family.

The epidode starts with a teenage Pranandika...she has a boyfriend and the guy is abusive towards her. Every small thing can make him angry ...he also tries to take liberties with her. She does not allow him that , and that makes him madder...but just like a typical abuser , he comes back to her apologizing profusely ...he tells her he gets mad easily...so she should not say and do stuff that would make him angry😲...laying the blame completely on her...Pranadhika's parents had separated when she was young for a period of 11 years and every relationship or friendship she formed there after , she was looking for qualities of her dad or a father figure. She is also under the impression that she deserves this kind of treatment from her BF and that he is trying to better her😲.

One day he tries to molest her and she pushes him away. He leaves angry ...she cannot deal with this anymore and slits her wrists😭...fortunately her mom comes there and takes her to the hospital.
The parents are clueless as to why she would try such a thing. She has all the luxury and money, so why would she even attempt suicide.

She then tells them how she was abused as a young child. When her parents separated, she lived with her Mom...an elder male relative abuses her...no one suspects anything cos they all trust him ...and at 4 she does not really understand what is going on...when she is 8 she goes to spend a weekend with her Dad...there the old trusted servant of theirs takes her to his room and abuses her...she tries telling her Dad , but then goes to her aunt , lives there ,and explains everything...the aunt gets angry and tells her maybe she did something that made the man act that way😡😲...the aunt tells the girl not to tell anyone and so she has been carrying this colossal pain inside her forever. The parents apologize to her and she breaks up with her BF.

At school she realizes that she is not the only one who has suffered child sexual abuse...soon she gathers all girls who have been through it and they decide not to be silent anymore.👏

Now she has an organisation that helps victims of child sexual abuse. She wants the parents to trust their children and listen to them...use age appropriate language to educate kids about what can happen...and to believe in the kids when they something has happened with them

She says she does not consider herself a victim anymore...she is a survivor.👏

Hey JJ. good to see you here.
I agree about the parents trusting their kids...also, there needs to be this awareness...parents should talk to their kids about what can actually happen...child sexual abuse is a universal subject and is rampant everywhere...staying silent about the subject or pretending it does not exist is not going to help the children...communication is key here...hope all the parents take note and have a serious conversation with their kids about it.

Varshu,

You watched it ? Hmmm...I think I switched on when it had already started. Because I saw from her parents separating till he goes to the aunt. I heard the aunt's reply. Got pissed completely and changed the channel to watch MONK...

Bangalore had quite a few child abuse cases recently. One of them very high profile and that too the girl baby's own father. What more can one say ?

PS: I did not see Ashish even once. 😭

I did read about the Bangalore cases😭...just sickening to see how depraved and disgusting some human beings could be...

You did not get to see Ashish...this episode actually had more of him...it must be emotionally draining though ...to sit and listen to these stories from the concerned individual...

Looks like the one next week is an important and sensitive subject too. The girl gets kidnapped, raped and murdered😭😲...the Father is trying to get justice...they do not show his face cos he does not want his identity revealed😭

Kudos to you Varshu for watching the episode and updating the rest of us 👏 . Its a scary situation and people need to know the consequences of not listening to their kids. Her aunt could have been more sensitive and kept her safe. Instead they all made her believe she was wrong and deserved such treatment. That's why she put up with crap.
I'm so glad she is finally out of this. And what is more commendable that she is helping other girls open up and get help. Thanks again Varshu.
