Manav Gohil: Shweta much superior actor than me

Manav Gohil, small screen's beloved 'Yam' is soon hosting second season of 'Tujhse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi' on &TV. Actor Ashish Sharma played the role of RJ/host of the show in the first Season. As the show is going through a revamp, the producers of the show find it necessary to get a fresh anchor to host it. 'Bigg Boss 7' contestant Apoorva Agnihotri was approached for the role initially. Apoorva's loss became Manav's gain Due to reasons best unknown, Apoorva couldn't accept the show. Manav Gohil has been finalized to host the show which talks about the fighting spirit of people when caught in crisis. We got the opportunity to speak to Manav himself as he was getting ready to shoot the first episode of the show at Bombay Brother Studio one hot Mumbai afternoon. Here isTimes TVExclusive-How is the shooting for 'Tujhse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi' proceeding?Today is the first day of the shoot and it's going smooth. Unlike RJs who have to concentrate on their voice, I have to be aware of mike and as well as the camera angle. Initially it was confusing, but I am getting comfortable with the idea of portraying the role of a Radio Jockey.
What attracted you to 'Tujhse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi'In the ratings driven industry, it's rare to find a TV show which actually talks about human dignity, victories of life and not just failures and debacles. The show is inspiring and positive which made me accept it.You will be compared with ex-host, Ashish Sharma. What's your take on it?
What people perceive of me doesn't interfere with my regular life. I might lacking a few characteristics which Ashish must have been fantastic in. I will deliver what I can.
According to you, who has the most captivating voice?More than the voice itself, correct use of the words makes the voice more appealing be it, Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpay. Shah Rukh Khan may not have a perfect voice but the way he uses words, makes listening to him an absolute pleasure. Personally, I like Hrishi K's voice tremendously.You are doing very few shows at the moment. Why so?When an actor is out of work and people perceive it as being selective, it's a fantastic ego boost!
Things didn't worked out earlier, be it script or the concept or the money or me not fitting into the role. Things happen when they are meant to happen.We heard the rumours about 'Yum Hai Hum' going off-air. Is there any truth to it?I got a strong signal from the channel, producer that we are not going off-air. I think somebody is playing naughty but we are going strong. The unit is happy with the viewers' response.When can we see you sharing screen with wife Shweta Kawatra?I hope someday some producer will cast us together. At the moment Shweta is busy with our 3-year old daughter Zahra. Shweta is much superior actor than me so I am scared to act opposite her!
How busy is your daughter Zahra keeping you?
Zahra is just 3-years. It's fun to watch her grow. It's a great feeling to go to her by the end of a hectic day. If she is not in town, I become clueless about how to spend my time.

As we left, Manav has returned to the promo shoot for his new show 'Tujhse Naaraz Nahi Zindagi' in the sweltering heat. Looking handsome in casuals, Manav has created a relaxed atmosphere on the sets with his easy demeanor. The new season of the show is going on air from June 6, 2015 on &TV.
