Don't want: Same old society narrow minded and bad, only hero heroine good and progressive. I mean it's only ITV jahaan heroine ke alawa saari women muh bana banakar doosron ke matter me taanka jhaanki karti h and men behaved like a nodding donkey who get swayed easily by heroine's/villain's passionate speech. Breaking news A normal person is much more complex than that.

Want: A normal relatable female lead who can't defeat naxals/terrorists/serial killers/drug cartels

Don't want: An angry young man male lead who marries the heroine only for revenge

Want: A strong, multi dimensional parallel lead who has a story of her own and doesn't depend on heroine at every step

Would like to see normal and realistic storyline and approach in characters.

Leads should be shown more forward in their thoughts yet not crossing the lines of decency.

They should do More of talking out their issues out instead of just shouting matches and empty threats and challenges.

No superhuman feats from the female lead. Let her be strong and supportive but not a know it all who solves the problems of the whole family / village /city.

And a male lead who is not temperamental but more calm in thoughts.. Not a mere spectator in the tracks. He should have something sensible to do.

Leads need not be perfect. They can be flawed and shown to accept their flaws. What CVs need to realise is that no one is perfect whether it be female or male.

Supporting characters should not be overbearing and interfering.

Not too much negativity in the story.

A good balance of happy and realistic problem solving or sad moments should be there. An Overdose of either would make it stale.

Do more research on professions and not butcher it.

Every character should make a space for themselves.

Bohot jyada ho gaya lagta hai.. 😆

You made a list of everything THR lacked. I still think the initial episodes of THR were best when Kalyani was an impulsive, hurt teenager and Malhar was the calm, understanding person and his demeanor suited his profession. But us time ITV me angry vengeful male leads ka bolbaala tha so they completely changed Mallu and Kallu's character traits. ITV ka logic nahin samajhta mujhe...kisi ladki ki family na ho to use sahara dene ke liye shaadi as if a man cannot help someone as a brother orr without marrying. Similarly male lead ko kisi se badla lena ho to shaadi. Agar kisi ladke se hi badla lena hua to, by that logic, Mallu aur Athu ki bhi shaadi karwa dete...kissa hi khatm

Very true.. Using marriage for revenge is really not a good message.

They should think about the audience too.

They shouldn't underestimate the intelligence of the viewers by showing illogical stuff.

They frequently show hero using mental harassment of his wife for revenge which is also a form of domestic violence. On one hand, Channels claim to be torch bearers of female empowerment, yet they show male lead doung this kind of behaviour.

Other than all of the above mentioned things, it'd be nice to see more conflict between the female lead and whoever she has a raabta with, instead of nonsensically throwing away all relationships for one only as Kalyani has been doing for Anu... in S1 it was still bearable and understandable, later it became utter insanity.

The other thing lacking here that I'd want to see in a possible new version of the show is the female leads being more career-driven and being shown as capable of handling their home and their jobs or studies together, like many women in the world do nowadays.... the 18th century mentality that we can only focus on one thing is bs.

I don't mind social issues explored, but don't do it in a way that makes me feel like I'm being lectured on something... otherwise I'd just watch documentary na? I hate mahanta bare bhashans from the heroines on serials and soaps.
