IMHO the issue is that in S1 Mallu had a specific enemy/rival (Athu), so he got to show off his swag more as a cop by going after Atharva, who constantly committed crimes.

Now Atharva is missing and the short while he was here, their rivalry wasn't as much fun as back then.

And in most ITV serials women get to have lion's share of the action in terms... might be frustrating to see on a show where the male lead is a police commissioner, obviously, but it is what it is.

Had they not turned Sampu into a saint and then killed her off, something nobody asked for, they could've brought back SamThu and Pallavi/Aparna to create problems for Kalma and spiced up the respective rivalries btw Mallu vs Athu & Kallu vs Sampu.

They've even killed off Ahir, who was the only other potential enemy for Malhar, although the former's rivalry with Atharva was on a whole other level... I'll never forget the scene where Mallu goes with his men to pick Athu at the airport (?) to arrest him complete with band baaja and all.... too cute! 😂
