Hey there all the lovely people!!
Apologies for being late but here I am out of habit - I am starting to question my sanity and when it happens I definitely have to break habit, I don't stay in routine for long. Here is my nonsense post for the day.
Trust and respect is more valuable than love, a combination of these three make a life worthy of living. A person can live without love, but not without respect. Massi has everything she could have ever dreamed off, she cheated and scammed Uma for money, selling off his medicines without consent, she had all the love and respect she could ever imagine yet there was a need to hurt people, Uma - the person who valued her so much more than his own mother, he gave her such stature that one often fears the level of it.
Uma lays his years of hard work in her feet, touching feet of elders is the ultimate form of respect in the culture, one touch feet to seek ashirwad and Uma seeks blessing for his work in such form.
It's in front of Shivji that Uma gives Massi what she had desired for so long - while Uma prays that everyone gets a mother like her, and Kanak prays none gets a mother like her, for she has crushed all hope of humanity, she betrayed, kept them all uneducated to a certain level, away from the worldly things/matters, she cheated them emotionally... teaching them one way and herself the highway.
Kanak's mehndi is underway and Massi threatens her the last time that she has got what she had wanted and is ready for the next and last level - it's during the ceremony that's the swag wale swamj enters - all eyes on the desi boy turned hip and chic to surprise his lady love. Uma dances his way on swag de kareinge sabka swagat and all the eyes come popping out in surprise be it of Bhabho, Saras, Kanak or my mother - who was like seedhe swami ba ko kya ho gaya 😆
Coming back to the performance it was really good, it was fun watching Uma dancing to the Bollywood tunes yet the moment he joins Kanak, the chemistry in between them is non existent, it was more like they were busy doing the steps rather than enjoying the dance with each other as kanUm. KanUm in that moment were not present, it was unconnected and unconvincing because the direction wasn't done well, it was sequence where all the filmy dreams of a girl comes true, her husband appears as a hero yet Kanak seemed distant from him, she is impressed yet the character seemed unconcerned with the level of attachment required. Uma picks her and puts her on the stage, and they have a couple dance - for The love of God give a close up on that, they danced away into the night yet the feeling of watching them remained unquenched... it was their first dance yet it was underutilized for the Massi had to be shown escaping. Kanak gets down the stage while everyone is moving to the music - why Logic why - so much to rant and complain that I am underwhelmed by the show off lately.
Thank you for bearing my rant.
