I've never liked chemistry lessons when I was in in school. Just skimmed some books and did homework in order to achieve good marks. Bad choice, a deeper study maybe had helped me understand this all word's meanings- chemistry.
Your guess is correct, it's not my intention to rant about the lessons I hated the most in school, I just try to understand what is about when two on screen characters keep us hooked to small or big screen to the limit of craziness, what are the elements which reaction's result is viewers' addiction. What the hell is that chemistry?
Sure, first comes the talent and actor's ability to make us believe them, but I think it's not enough. I've seen good acting which didn't transmit any emotion.
I guess very important is also the script, lines should be naturally related to the moment and make audience believe they are watching a segment of life. But not all actors are so lucky.
Then comes actor's intelligence and smartness. They have to understand perfectly what they have to deliver to viewers and how they can do it.
I would add each other's trust and comfort. I think these help the actors to give their best in a scene. It's both actors responsibility to understand and respect each other in order to offer the other's the freedom to act.
I really don't know if my above ranting has anything to do with what we call on screen chemistry, I don't know if it's not enough or it's too much. I don't know if there is a secret ingredient which some actors or makers are aware about. Those who work with it might loud laugh at my babble. I am just a simple viewer who happens to be the "victim" of this kind of addiction and tries to understand where comes the power that controls it from .
But I am damn sure that there is no universal recipe, otherwise we'd have been already tired of watching magical TV couples. Not all on screen pairs are blessed with that magic. Some didn't get it at all , some reached a glare of it but some are literally capturing the viewers and put a spell on them.
This is what our Kanak and Uma did to us. They are the most magical couple I've met in a show. Whether they are quarreling or missing each other, whether they romance or hate each other, we believe them, we are there living their emotions, we can't get enough of them. What is an episode without their consistent presence? A bad one, of course. We fairly praise other actors performance, our show is blessed with a brilliant cast, but we can't bare to be deprived of our daily dose of Kanum. No matter how much screen space the creatives give other's characters, we want double dose of Kanum! Cvs, pls make one hour episodes, full of kanum scenes, but don't expect we got enough. We know the actors are human first off all and need their space and time to rest and refresh. But who cares? Give us more Kanum.
Of course I overstated and tended to make a drama from our harmless addiction, but we like drama, don't we?😃
I just tried to express my conviction, which might be yours as well, dear Kanum lovers , that TSMSP could become the most popular show of the period, like its prequel was, if Uma and Kanak's magic were valued at its potential. Avinesh and Rhea seem to possess all the ingredients needed for perfect pair on screen and that secret one as well. I think their on screen chemistry is a golden mine that cvs are fearfully opening. Cvs still prefer to use classic recipes to catch the viewers attention , but I hope one day they will achieve the comfort of allowing themselves to try a new formula. It might not be a chemical but an alchemical one.
P.S. Creatives, please don't waste Bangkok track on witches hunt. Try the magic formula, it might reveal gold.
