Hey there all the lovely people!!
Me is out of this world late for such a beautiful episode- it should be a crime to miss the episode like this on air and then not have time till it's tooo late into the night to do the discussion post but since it's celebration time, please forgive me.
Direct to discussion.
Uma is a person who leaves no stones unturned to seek forgiveness, he knows that he loves Kanak and marrying Palomi would be a misery for all of them. It's actually wrong for a man to ditch a woman on marriage altar, but it's a crime to love another and marry someone else. Uma looks at Kanak and she nods, gives her approval that she understands his interaction with Palomi. Uma apologizes for he cannot marry her - he admits that he was confused, in a dilemma to marry or not to marry, and he shouldn't have accepted the proposal in confusion, it's a lesson that decisions that effect people and lives, shouldn't be made in a spur of moment, promises shouldn't be handed out like free cookies, marriage is a life long commitment, to be happy and keep the partner happy such decisions should be made with as clear a mind as possible.
Palomi was in for this heartbreak of her own doing, it reflects how shallow her hope, the ashes of KanUm relationship on which she tried to build her dreams didn't last even for a few hours, one gust of wind and the ashes brought ruin to her and her plans.
It was sanket that brought Kanak and Uma together, it's that sanket that helped them today. They both stand with folded hands, grateful to Shivji for helping them, for being there for them. It's the sanket that starts a conversation between them. Uma shows her that mangalsutra, Kanak is excited to get it back, she is about to take it back but Kanak teases him that he had wanted it so desperately, he can give it to anyone, she turns away from him and he smiles - he is finally understanding the teases the jalebi like jokes, he is getting the undertones of whatever she says, he ain't confused regarding her anymore.
He places his hands on her shoulder and makes her see him, they both stand facing each other right in that moment, he asks her what should he do to earn/deserve the right to be worthy of making her wear this mangalsutra - that question itself is the beginning. He asks how can he be worthy of her, he is not going to impose himself or their relationship on her, it's all going to be with understanding. Kanak asks him to repeat the words he said earlier, he is about to speak up, but he goes down on his knee and says the dialogue ~hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hai, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hai, aur pyaar bhi eekkk hi baar hota hai... Kuch Kuch Hota hai Kanak ~ these dialogues are cult classic, Kanak is impressed beyond words, it wasn't in her wildest imagination that Uma could pull off SRK, the beauty of the scene is that it's actually evident that Uma is trying to copy someone's filmy style - I strongly believe that Avinesh can do a perfect imitation of SRK, but the charm in the whole scene is that it shows that he is trying to imitate, Uma is not an actor to pull it all off perfectly, he tries the side smirk, opens his arms, says the dialogue slowly as if trying to remember them one after the other, despite imitating SRK and his DDLJ, the confession has touch of Uma, the essence of him ain't overshadowed, he gives a beautiful interpretation of love, love that changes the world, love that changes the self, he understand that one can leave everything for love, but can't give up love for anything - that's a level achieved in love, the realization that how important love is in life, for it gives the realization of self, the self which was just fleeting through its own existence comes across the feeling of love and everything that was white black or grey takes different colors, the expressions which were of happiness or sadness are varied between being happy in someone's happiness or being upset with someone's sadness... it's the sharing of ones heart with the other, that's love.
Uma asks her if Kanak Rathi would like to become Kanak Uma Shankar Toshniwal again, he goes back on his knee and proposes her to marry him, he says he loves her, he takes her hand and places a kiss on it, the joy on his face is unexplainable, the million watt smile is to die for, Kanak says I Love you too, they both hug each other with happiness bursting through their being, their joy knows no limit, they hadn't expected this, yet they are together in one of the best situations they could find themselves in. Their hug is not passionate or intense or sensual, but of excitement and joy, to just live in that moment, to hold on to each other not to absorb the other, but to express themselves.
On the other hand, SarVansh are again brushed under the rug, no development just to fix Vansh up, he apologized for his actions of hurting both Saras and Sara, the truth comes out in front of him for Saras cannot lie anymore, he realizes that despite he spent time with Sarah, it was Saras that actually mattered to him... but as they say all's well that ends well, atleast no more Sara parading around in the marketplace.
The interesting thing is that Kanak and Vansh are both in love with people poles apart from them, yet all of them have changed and adapted the colors of each other and today marked a new beginning for them.
Ps - Merry Christmas to all of you đ¤
