Kanak threw the ball as Uma stood, watching it roll by him
"You're meant to catch it "

Uma leant down picking it up "Now what"
Kanak pointed at the hoop "Aim it in there"

Uma lifted it trying to aim it in, it bounced back knocking Kanak over as it bounced on her head

Kanak led on the floor, looking up
Uma stood infront of her
"Im so sorry, i'm not good at"

Uma looked down at a boy tugging his top, "You hurt Kanak Aunty"

The boy went to kick him as Kanak sat up
"Hey, it was an accident"

Uma apologised as Kanak rubbed her head
"You can make it up to me later "
Winking she walked away

Uma was oblivious to the hidden meaning behind her words as he watched her say bye to the children

"Kanak "
"Yes house owner"
Uma frowned "Thats not my name"

Kanak threw her hair back "Okay, Umashankar "
"Shall we go sit over there "

Kanak nodded as she followed him over

Sitting at the bench they watched the water
"Whenever I need to think I come here "

Uma smiled "Does it help"
Kanak nodded "Theres some things words cant explain"
Uma looked out at the water "I think its nice to know that you are not alone, that theres someone there with you"

Kanak looked back at him, placing her hand atop his she looked back at the water "I agree"

Uma sat down on his bed, Kanak sat on the floor infront of him

Uma skillfully moved his fingers through her hair, massaging her head where she fell

Kanak lay her head back as she closed her eyes, sighing in relief

His finger tips were cold as she opened one eye looking up at him "You're good at this, this cant be your first time"

"I used to massage my mothers head"
Kanak hummed in reply

Finishing up the massage, she stood up thanking him
As she went to walk outside he held her wrist, stopping her

"Stay here tonight, its cold outside "
Kanak shook her head "What if someone sees"

Stepping closer, his palm rested upon her cheek, her eyes closed in comfort
Rubbing her cheek with his thumb, she could feel how intense his gaze was upon her

As she opened her eyes slowly he was right infront of her, his voice a whisper "Stay"

Kanak had no control over her actions as she rested her hand on his, removing it from her face she linked her fingers with his

Something felt right about this, like she fit here, with him
Lifting their hands up she glanced at them then smiled up at Uma

Closing her hand over his, she watched him do the same, she was sure this connection she felt was one of a kind, lifting her hand up he pressed a chaste kiss to it

The warmth where his lips had been warmed her to the core as she moved to the bed to lie down, holding her hand she smiled at the memory of his touch

As the sun shone through the small crack of the curtains, Kanak stretched and yawned

As she rubbed her eyes, she looked around for Uma
Her hand slid over the duvet, it had been the best sleep she had in forever

Standing up she walked over to the door, pushing it open , Uma turned to face her smiling

Holding a cup out for her she took it greatfully as she allowed the drink to warm her up from the brisk cold air

"Good morning Kanak" Uma's breath sent shivers down Kanak's body as the hairs on her arms stood up

Stepping away from her he walked to the bathroom

Palomi pushed open Uma's bedroom door, she focused on Kanak's back, hiding she watched as Kanak turned around

Hm, so this was what Uma was hiding

Palomi returned to her room, searching for her necklace she hid it


She would wait for now.
To blame this girl for her missing necklace


Kanak decided she wanted to do something nice for Uma, jumping from the balcony she made her way to the market

Arriving she searched for some ingredients

A motorbike skidded behind her, Kanak turned to face the man as he threw his helmet to the floor

Licking his lips he swung his leg off the bike and stepped toward her
Kanak dropped the jar to the floor, turnjng she ran


The man was close behind her, just a stwp away as he grabbed her bag and yanked her bag
Shoving her foot back she set off again

She ran as fast as she could, looking behind her she bashed into a car as she watched the blood on her ankle drip down

She continued to run as she saw Uma's house
There was no time to climb the balcony

Running around she pushed the doors open as they hit the walls loudly

Everybody turned to stare at her as her eyes finally caught onto Uma, she ran forward

The people of the house continued to watch her as she landed infront of him
His name a sigh of relief from her lips as she latched her arms around him and held him, sobbing into his chest she had no care for anybodys thoughts

A voice awoke her from her trance "Thats her, thats the girl I saw steal my necklace "

"Dont Trust What You See, Even Salt Looks Like Sugar"

Kanak looked up from Uma's chest
Her eyes were puffy as he looked down at her in concern

Pulling back she sniffed as she looked to the floor
Palomi grabbed her shoulders "Where is my necklace hm? You thief, how dare you disrespect our kindness and steal from us"

Kanak looked up in shock "what necklace"
Palomi squeezed Kanak's shoulders tighter "Enough with your lies"

Shoving Kanak back she faltered before making eye contact with Uma
"I didn't take any necklace I swear, you know I would never do that"

Uma watched as Palomi raised her hand to hit Kanak
Grabbing her wrist his jaw tightened "DO NOT TOUCH HER"

The members of the family looked on shocked at Uma's anger
Dropping her wrist he stood back "Whatever it is you thought you saw, you are wrong, she would never steal"

"But Uma"
Uma lifted his hand, turning his head "I dont want to hear it"
Looking at Kanak she smiled softly at him
"I trust her"

Walking over to her, he picked her up as he walked up the stairs, resting her head on his chest she allowed herself to cry quietly in a place she finally felt safe, his arms

Uma sat Kanak on his bed, reaching down he slid her shoe of her injured foot

He reached for the first aid box as he wiped away her blood as she sniffed
His fingers were a soft caress on her skin as he bandaged her foot up

Scooting forward on the bed she rested both hands on his face as she put her forehead against his
"I just need to know you're here, that this isnt a dream"

His hot breath fanned against her cracked lips, his thumb tracing the cracks, his touch wasnt enough to quench her thirst for him

Leaning forward he pressed a heistant kiss to her lips as her eyes fluttered close

Their breaths heavy as it mingled together

"No one has ever trusted me like this, made me feel the way you make me feel"
Her fingers traced his temple as she spoke

"I dont know what this is Kanak, but there's something about when you cry "
His hand rested upon his heart "Its like I cant breathe, like I am suffocating every time I watch just one tear fall from your eyes, its the slowest most painful kind of death and I cant do it"

Kanak's hand covered his mouth "Im so scared im going to fall for you and you wont catch me"
Uma sat next to her on the bed, pulling her into his embrace "I wont let you fall, ive got you"

Kanak's eyes met Uma's , his eyes burnt with desire and honesty.
She knew then, that her heart was his, forever
There was nothing she could do about it, nothing she wanted to.

I hope this is a positive change from what we usually see on tv, I really wanted to give this story a chance, to see what they could be

Kanak had washed her hair, drying it with a towel she limped forward as Uma held his arms out for her

Arriving in front of him she rested her head on his chest as he held her, taking in her scent

Kanak looked up at Uma, smiling she squeezed his cheeks "You're so cuteee"
Uma laughed as he picked her up, spinning her around

"I have something to show you, look"
Uma pulled open the wardrobe, Kanak's clothese were all washed and hung up next to his, tears filled her eyes as she pulled him closer to her

"Thank you, thank you so much"
Uma tilted her chin, so she looked up at him "Your home is with me now, for as long as you will stay"

"I want to stay forever"
Uma smiled "I was lying, I wasnt going to let you go anyway"

Laughing into his chest she allowed herself to relax, she was home.
