OS : Moonlight
The light breeze fluttered the stray strand of hair on her face, Uma not wanting to let go of her hand that he was holding, turned to his side towards her. He picked the stray hair and tucked it behind her ear.
Seeing her watching the moon intently, "we should do this more often" Uma said. Kanak broke out of the spell the moon had cast over her... it was a full moon and it was mesmerizing. "Sometimes I feel like you are right to condemn the use of technology," Kanak said to him. "If the power cut hadn't happened I wouldn't have seen such a beautiful moon" she continued. "But it's not more beautiful than you" Uma said quietly looking into her eyes. She blushed and turned her head. After all this time, he had to say a few words and she would melt into a blushing red putty. A few minutes passed and while she was blushing Red looking at the moon, ignoring Uma staring at her, a smile broke on her face... "what happened" Uma asked. "Nothing" Kanak replied with her smile spreading and mirth making its mark of mischief in her eyes. "Kanak" he called out to her... "no not in a million years, you will hold it over my head forever" she replied back faking caution. "What have you done?" Uma growing concerned by every passing second, Kanak was smiling mischievously, she had done some thing and he had to know it now. "So you won't tell me" he asked "nope" she answered. "You asked for it" he said and before Kanak could comprehend he had her pinned to the floor and was on top of her. He held her hands by her head, his face blocked her view of the moon, but her demon was more important at the moment. "It's just a silly memory, Uma, she said. "Tell me, he said. "Promise you won't make fun of me"she said. This was getting interesting, he would have fun in due time, but he promised nonetheless. Kanak started her story, " remember that time when I had come home newly wedded, and you were preparing for full moon pooja..." she broke in the sentence her eyes lowered, no longer looking back at him, a deeper hue of red on her cheeks emerged. "And" he said. Kanak started stuttering ..."and you were explaining mahurat to me, that everyday was a mahurat, sometime early sometimes delayed, but everything had to be done on mahurat, you were taking about moon pooja and I didn't know anything about it. I thought you were talking about ... about suhagraat" .. she closed her eyes shut tightly. Uma loosened his grip on her, and howled in laughter. He remembered everything, how uncomfortable she had been during that conversation. Kanak opened her eyes at his laugh, she placed a few punches on him, "you are so mean,Uma" she said. She pushed him back on the floor and he pulled her towards him and held her. The moonlight had done its part, it had brought them more closer than ever, even the moon smiled at a distance watching them bathing in its light in unison.
