Hey there all the lovely people!!!
Me is back!!! DO WATCH the episode... it's KanUm paradise today. Don't know what to write
It's said that friendship is necessary not love in a marriage. Love is just that attraction which joins two people together but it's friendship that bounds them together, through thick and thin, happiness or sadness, two people work together in unison for each other, not in the same manner but towards the same goal.
Massi leaves with the final word that it doesn't matter Kanak trusts her or not but she sure as hell doesn't trust Kanak... everyone is left behind gawking at her retreating figure, some smirking some pondering and some clueless. Uma says to Kanak that winning over Massi should be her first priority and she nods back - these two have formed an unsaid alliance.
Finally the day comes when Uma and Kanak walk into their room at the end of the day. Kanak is laughing at a memory and Uma looks on curiously. She explains that she and Vansh used to prank call random people. It's so much fun. -- during this conversation Kanak has taken off her duppata - the veil is no longer required between them, she is at ease in their little world, their room. A duppata has a story to it, it's the crown jewel of 'sharm n lihaz and lajja' today that duppata was removed, that Kanak is as bare as she can be in front of him. And he initially turns his eyes away and then gets used to the idea.
Kanak says that she wants to proceed step by step first they should be friends, then lovers and eventually husband and wife. Uma staying true to his character says that Shivji and Parvati are the ideal husband and wife, and nowhere is it mentioned that they were friends. Kanak says that the way stairs are made to reach the terrace, she is making steps to reach the ultimate level in their relationship. --Uma is unable to understand the concept of friendship because he has no concept of a girl being friends with a guy, according to him a girl and boy can never be friends, as talking to strangers is not allowed in their house. As Vansh calls and pretends to be a salesperson, saras stopped suman from receiving as Uma is at home - suman asks that doesn't she feel curious to talk to strangers, as she read a lot of romantic novels but never applied. Saras says that reading is different but all this is 'chichorapun' and she is not interested. This whole scene sets up the idea Uma has regarding a girl and boy not being even allowed to talk. Friendship is a very far fetched thought.
Kanak today didn't impose her thoughts and wants on him, she just said it that this is the way she want them to proceed, understanding each other and moving step by step. Kanak's lamp catches fire and Uma takes it outside and Kanak brings water to douse it, she puts out the fire and drenches Uma. He stands there with blank expressions and Kanak although wanting to laugh, averts her eyes. He walks up to her and says friends don't turn their gaze but lovers do. He kinda challenges her that let's see whether she would make him her friend first or he would make her his lover.
Uma's only hold over Kanak is the physical proximity, his intense gaze that makes her uncomfortable, nervous and butterflies in her stomach a feeling she hasn't processed to be of love.
Uma watches her in the saree, she turns and it falls down. He helps her to pin it, and she is left staring at him, he leaves saying a friend helped. They had a lovely moment at night and in the morning. They are together yet both of them are not actually there. It's not that they have ulterior motives it's just their ways are yet to be connected.
Thank you for reading a nonsense post.
