@sanathana123...here..not everywomen is same..taking those 3 days off is fine when one is unwell..but restricting and prohibiting them is not right..if they are ok.to.work who are others to.prohibit...let us leave the fact that they go to.work..consider i am ralking about women..what is wrong in suman having lunch along with others..or others getting inside her room..its not like indians ar going western way..its that indians are developing their mindset..atleast i am totally against descrimination on women and isolating them during these times..
ps...heyy sanathana... it seems we r always having different opinions on a topic..dnt feel bad..i hope u are not offended by anything i am saying..😊

I understand you so well, @deeps. I am in a similar situation. I still have a job now in a bankrupt company. But now i don't do my old job which used to consume almost all my time. Some days my schedule is full, some days i'm relaxed. My fiends and my husband are working, so don't have time for me.
I found new friends here to share an old passion for romantic shows and i am so happy i met you all.
But i hope it won't last too long, I still need a challenging job.

With Uma - he is not Bhabho's choice, he is not on the surface compatible with her soch. Plus there is the forced aspect.

hmm.yea..but bhabhoo seems happy knowing uma..when she went to the clinic she was like vansh should.learn from uma...
both kanak and uma.belings to different world..and it becomes to maintain relationship with all these constraints without much love..

No freedom for women and so much restrictions

Even for Sandhya, Rathi's family's was so different and difficult

She too had some much restrictions but her support system is too good

For Kanak to accept the marriage won't be easily..

I was also thinking the same what if it was not forced marriage

totally agree with u..even if tge marriage survives due to.society and sacrifice it would be difficult to be a happy marriage..

Like... if I have to wake up 4 am or food schedule , it is tough - not impossible. She can get accustom to it after a while.

She should NOT adjust vrat...dharma./ drinking feet water, not going out alone...etc
Sandhya had challenges, too (which prepared her physically for her career indirectly...) - she had Suraj...to be with her...

And Rathi's did not ask her to drink feet water or ban outing... or suraj never thought to burn her alive... or punish her...he helped her to adjust... helped her and Emily .. to continue their study...

agree...but the problem here is umas family is strict about their rules..until uma changes for better there is no.hope for kanak to.make them understand anything..

True, all of these should come with knowledge...he should educate her ..
she is the one who will decide if she like to follow or not? Or it will take time...can not change in a moment.

I don't see any science in drinking husband's feet water ..even if there is ...I will not follow it...for my self respect...

I feel like if Bhabho had asked her to marry Uma at first before all this happened then she would said yes, she wouldn't be happy, but she would do it for Bhabho's happiness.

Would K be happy? no (either with Uma or that other one, but more so Uma cos he's very backward) and neither would she accept it with her full heart, maybe with time she would.

With Uma, she would be still questioning his beliefs at every step of the way. Thats just how she is as a person but she wouldn't be against falling for him either.

totally agree with u..it would be a lot of adjustments and unless uma gets a bit.more accomodating towards kanaks lifestyle..it would be difficult to.become a happy.marriage..
