Uma loves kanak that's sure but he doesn't know how to love and what love is
If he knew what love was he wouldn't have done the most wrong this he did marry forcefully as he had Shankar bhagwan ka ishara

If he had some notion like that he should have found out the family of kanak and should have asked her hand in marriage.

I dont know the intracies of love. But love can happen due to any reason beauty, swag, wealth and in umas case signals.

Falling in "love" for beauty, swag, wealth or signals...is not really love. You can call it attraction, infatuation, fandom, greediness, but not love...not until all these superficial things are gone and the person is still there for you. As for signals...Kanak herself pointed out that there are no guarantees in that. Today Uma gets a signal to love someone...and tomorrow to leave her...what would he do? Would he stay with Kanak regardless of the signals? If yes...then okay, we can call it love.

Like in arrange marriages ppl start loving because they know noe its their spouse. Same way for uma he thinks they are made for each other. If it was only dharam then he would not have taken her back aftet kerala escape, alcohol incident.

Yes Uma, once married, wanted to accept and love his wife.

But as for him forgiving her...do we only forgive people that we love? No right? I don't know about all religions...but I am familiar with most of the major ones...and I believe there is a pathway for repentance (prayashchit) in all of them. Forgiveness is not contingent on love...rather it is usually granted based on how sincere we feel the person asking forgiveness is. Once again it was his dharam that led him to forgive Kanak. He wanted to give their marriage a chance, because he doesn't want his bhakti, his understanding of Shiv's signs to be incorrect.

Once love happens you got attached thqt reason should be lost.
Now u should just love and stand by taht person

E.g. in umas case he didnt leave kanak as soon as payal told him. He wanted to still check on kanak. If only his dharam mattered he would have left a cheater then and there.

To be fair...Payal is not a trustworthy person. So, I think rather than taking her word blindly...Uma decided to test Kanak. And if found her to be of bad character he would have acted as judge and jury and burned her alive!

That is not love in my definition...that's vigilante justice. 😲

I think its love. As i believe love is care. If somebody cares for me without getting anything out of it its love.

I think Uma does care for Kanak, but true love means putting someone else's needs before your own...accepting a person for who they are...with their faults as well as good points. It means being their support in good times and bad. And it means giving them the wings they need to fly so they can achieve their dreams.

Perhaps it is like Deebz said...Uma's character is so austere and rigid it is hard for me to feel his love...😆 ...Although in Kerala he did try to court Kanak with a song on the beach...that was actually cute...😆

I mean I can't peek inside his heart and see what is really going on...but one thing is for sure...he just doesn't understand Kanak...and she just doesn't love him. And I'm glad. He needs to earn this love.

.
As i said first love has to happen for a reason and then it should sutsain without any reason. Now uma got signal that she is the one. He got attached. Now he wants to be with her even if she is cheater , liar. He accepted her the way she is.

Everybody has some guiding path in their lives. People look up to their parents. Now in umas case he has surrendered his life to shivji. So when something goes wrong . We say am i that bad?
He thinks in that manner that then i am not a bhakt... I am a fraud. He wanted to fire himself when she escaped.

Regarding repentance part yea we give chances to loved ones. Others we forgive and ignore.

So now seeing so many new ids with (50-100 posts)in the forum created only to bash uma
Anyways coming to the topic
Its better ppl watch the serial properly frm starting before saying wrong stuff
When did Uma stopped her from eating that chaat
He even asked her to take mint leaves so smell of onion wont come frm her mouth
But the overconfident and rude kanak rejected it
When maasi caught her he asked to leave it but she was adamant to punish as rules are equal for everyone
Still he gave her a small punishment which she did leave it in middle
Neither Masi or Uma forced her to complete it
Rules in the house are same for everyone
Even maasi punished uma bcz of kanaks cheap trick
Which she did to spoil his reputation in front of his family
He always helped her in many stuff
Gave her privacy, let her keep her secrets

I will say he loves her. That's why he is still keeping with her.
The only thing which makes us think that he doesn't love her truly is his thinking, his dharm, his rules, his restrictions, etc which will change in the future. The only thing which will remain the same is his love for her. I know he is orthodox and has old thinking but that's what makes him and that's what Kanak will change.

It is never easy to let go of your principles, the things you have been taught since childhood in one day or due to one person. If so, then why aren't we asking Kanak to do the same? Why aren't we asking Kanak to stop being so stubborn and just accept him? Because we are the people of this generation and being the people of this generation is the reason we are not accepting Uma's actions.

If we were to support Uma's thinking, we would've thought that uff, Kanak, stop it. Accept him as your husband because you took seven rounds around the holy fire with him.

It is not that we hate/dislike Uma, it is that we support Kanak because being modern, we know she is right.

So, he does love her and he is true to himself. Yes, he doesn't know much about her and vice versa but that is their journey, that is what the show is about. Being diyaa-baati to each other. Supporting and balancing each other. Without the diyaa, a baati is just a piece of cotton and without a baati, a diyaa is just a useless, earthen utensil. Being with each other makes them diyaa-baati.

The show is not about changing Uma's beliefs only, it is also about changing Kanak's beliefs, that following a dharam is not stupidity, believing in some things does not make a person insane, doing certain things is not the end of the world.

It is not that Kanak is always right and Uma is always wrong (we have seen this on the show already), it's about both being right and wrong and how they will finally come together despite of that.

That's all what I wanted to say. Thanks.

-Sanu

Kanak was also playing games for a while. He talks of being in love but right now I feel like he does it as a rule of dharma.

exactly..
I still feel uma is not loving her... first rule itself is love the person she/he as they are without any expectations...
and Kanak also not loving him as of now

will see how their equation turns out when they back to ladno

I believe from now on we'll see his true love for her. He will stand for her in front of Maasi, he will listen and keep in mind her opinions, he will accept to change rules and himself for her .
Slowly but surely.
