Hey there all the lovely people.
Apologies for a late post, but ain't something better than nothing.

Women are as equal a human as men, end of story for me. Neither is superior or inferior, by whatever career or life routes they chose. Men has been bread winner for as long as history runs its course, but that grain of wheat which men harvested was grounded by women and make to flour from which they produced bread. Bringing wheat was never enough alone, there had to be the second wheel in action to get it in bread shape. Man and women have always been two pieces of the same puzzle, different yet they join together no matter what the situation is.
It might be the modern age. Women is out there in space, she is everywhere, be it a doctor, engineer, teacher, scientist, even a trash picker, anything and everything. Even the woman at home, who is a house maker is not inferior from working woman. She works at home for the family, it's no way different or easier than working outside be it in a rice field or office.
Kanak today while washing the clothes made it seem disgusting a chore. As if that chore was somehow not up to her standards. She was forced to do it, but didn't she herself ruin them in the first place. Why is it that she cannot admit and own up her prank and pay for it. -- I might seem harsh, but playing woman card while Kanak herself is in the wrong, doesn't sit well with me.

Coming to the second part of the episode, US comes to get Kanak, but she asks for more time to put away things, self thought that when she doesn't believe in the marriage then way do the rituals.. she is trying to stall US, but he steps in and helps her put away her things. They walk out of the room and Kanak intentionally gets her dress torn. She says she cannot do the pooja in the dress, US takes her inside and makes her stand in front of the mirror. He takes the remaining doori out from the blouse and pulls a thread from the flower garland, he fixes her blouse with the thread and Kanak looks on at his reflection in the mirror, sometimes lost in him, sometimes feeling nervous and seem discomforted. There was nothing romantic about US fixing her dress, being this close, touching her bare back, there were no sparks of any kind... It's the direction of the scene, that was beautiful, it had full potential of intimacy being explored in their relationship, but it was kept fully platonic. US did not ogle her bare back, nor did Kanak have a hyperventilating breathing attack. It was a fabulous scene, that whatever Kanak ends up doing, US would be the one to stitch back the torn pieces. His thoughts have the purity and patience required with Kanak. They both have wonderful scenes in front of the mirrors, they both together in reflection but still they are not there.

Precap-- Kanak finds alcohol in US' lab and thinks up a plan.

Nice post... You described the mirror scene so well
Just copy pasting what I said in the morning

Kanaks speech didn't go with the situation she was in... She asked for it and it wasn't like umas family asked her to wash pure gharke kapde...

And the Doha uma recited actually goes for both of them...
Jab boya bij babun ka to phal kahan se paye

what you sow so shall u reap

Kanak uma scenes aren't enjoyable coz they are without feelings :(
And the precap... Hope it happens tomorrow and we see uma asking her to leave... Atleast then we will get something more meaningful..

And yeah golu rani story is atleast moving somewhere unlike the tom and Jerry of this show

@Foram - hey there thank you for reading and commenting.

That Doha of "reaping what one sows" is universal truth, one cannot expect mango fruit from neem tree.
And nothing good ever comes out of bad/ evil actions. We conveniently call Kanak's actions as pranks, which can be called poor attempt of being bad.
Kanak's flash back of 'aaj ki nari, sab par bhari' was kinda a shallow for me, being modern educated woman doesn't make homely chores be sub standard. Would she have such flashbacks if she was washing her own clothes?? Apna kharab kiya kaam theek karne mey Kya burai hai. It reflects how much Kanak's character needs to grow. Her bubble, her high born status, her beloved brothers are left behind.

US and Kanak have beautiful scenes, just not the right notes of being in love or hubby wifey, which we are so used too. Just because a man and woman are standing together they need not have a love attack. They are yet to explore being civilized first, be humans to each other. Then comes the feelings. US alone cannot have feeling, nor would it build up the scene. For me it was a beautiful scene. By yes they need to pace up.

Agree...
Btw today when he picked the garland i was like what is he upto... Gende ke phool balon me nai lagate... But he is always one step ahead 😆
I didnt expect the scene to be like that... It was a good scene... Kanak had tears in her eyes... As u said it was closeness then she felt uncomfortable also... With feelings i meant she is not noticing or reacting to anything other than playing pranks and teaching uma lesson...
Today again she agreed with uma that coz of gita sita got punishment

Thx blue...
Kanak got what she deserved...and like you said the hole woman card was so out off place...but I can understand the mindset off kanak...she is always independent, her right to stand up and having the freedom to do as she liked...all has been taken form her...(let's just forget it was her own ego /greed who made her stay back)...

Hey there Shali.

Your line "always independent, her right to stand up and having freedom to do as she like - has been taken away"
Everyone is a princess in their home with ones family. Freedom, independence, standing up everything. But the moment one steps out be it in market, or a guest somewhere-- one needs to tone down that do as one like attitude and take in the situation as it is.
Her rebellious attitude falls short the moment she says it's only for 17 days. Why go all this trouble. Lay low and let the days unfold. All this would have been important if that marriage was imposed on her that she has to accept it no matter what, the moment she realize that this is it. She has to live in this alien land then the rebellion/revolt would be justified.

Blue...
As I said in a different post...
She didn't accept the marriage nor US as her husband...so why should she give up everything...
Would this marriage had been with her consent then it would have been her adjusting to her new situation...

Kanak isn't a girl to sit down and be still...for bhabo she did and accepted all ill treatment...cause she loves her...but who is US...and his fly...and why should she accept the rules that are imposed on her or circumstances that she can't agree with...she is Sandiya Beti after all... she will rebel...only thing is her actions are childish...

Thanks blue for the post.

I did not relate to the scene the same way. The thing I was stuck on was, she does not accept him so how can he allow him to touch her like that...

The next thing I do agree jaisi karni waisi bharni...

The logic abt being independent did not apply to this scene...she is missing brothers..agree but the independent speech does not apply..

Always she messes and he fixes...that is the only thing that is constant...

@Snowfall -- hey there.

The mirror scene for me was perfect. Or maybe it's my view of them at the moment. I would close the tv the moment I see them falling prematurely for each other.

The things that put me off was the 'aj ki nari' flash back. It's not Kanak who is at fault, it's the cv at the moment. This wasn't the right moment to put forward the nari issue. That moment of Kanak's anguish on washing clothes could have been utilized for Kanak owning up her mistake.

Kanak messing and US fixing is the only thing constant.

Hey Blue - I didn't know what to make of the Dori and mirror scene... is Kanak softening? She felt awkward, but there was something else too. Tears. Why? Did she feel oppressed? Defeated? Confused? Hurt? Attraction?
As for Uma cleaning her mess. He's her Suraaj. She just doesn't know it yet. Her ray of light.

Uma needs heart-to-heart with Kanak not Palomi.

Kanak's nari shakti was totally dumb. Like many of her generation she has a shallow understanding of the feminism. There is nothing wrong with doing laundry - its splittage of labour.
