Hey there all the lovely people.
I didn't want to do a post today, couldn't think what to write... please watch the episode ... it's way too good to be written in words. The gestures the words the performance can't be described. But here is my petty attempt.
Hearty conversations makes one vulnerable, and vulnerability brings out honesty which in turn attracts the soul.
US and Kanak are finally alone in their room, US asks Kanak to get ready as the mahurat is not to be missed. Kanak misunderstands him and thinks he is talking about SR and says she is not ready. US walks towards her talking, Kanak backs and oil falls on the floor, they both slip and are unable to stand. Their fingers entwined, feet on feet they struggle to stand, Kanak realizes her discomfort and tries to free her hand, US let's go and Kanak brings it closer to herself awkwardly. The moment US tries to stand he is about to fall down and Kanak holds his hand and stables him.. they twist around and fall on the bed --- this whole scene is their journey in the show. How they both are pushed together in life, Kanak is uncomfortable, US is ready to give space and the moment he lets go of Kanak he is going to lose composure and Kanak is going to help him get back on his feet. And together they would fall in love.
Kanak is lying on top of US, he is smiling and she says I don't love you. US freezes. Kanak dreams that he suffocates her with a pillow for betraying him. She comes out of her reverie and moves giving way to US to leave.
US stands on the terrace, Kanak walks in.. the moment she comes near him, he steps aside, creating a distance. He says that you took enough time to make an excuse for what you said inside. Kanak replies that she swears by the moon, US stops her and says not to lie by the name of moon God, it's a sin.. she says she is not lying. She confronts him by explaining her situation to him, that she was just picked up married forcefully, without her consent or approval. Yes she ran away because she was scared, but she returned because a man who could force her to marry in front of the whole town, could find her sooner or later... hence the marriage down with all rites and rituals can't be negated, so she returned but she has no feeling for him. He might be her husband, but he is still a stranger, this family and place is unfamiliar and She is all alone there. She says she is doubtful of this marriage, that it won't last because it's dependent on sanket, and likes. Kanak questions US what if he gets signs that she is not the right person for him, what will she do then? What would her future hold. How will she face her family, whom she told nothing about him, as she herself doesn't know anything. US tries to assure her that nothing would happen, but she says it's all words, this marriage is one sided and based on pasand and not love. Love can't change but pasand can.
The episode was long anticipated, the actual conversation between the couple, especially from Kanak's side. Who remains in a constant dilemma and fear of anticipating the next thing that's going to happen. She poured her heart out, her fear of future, her fear of being near him, in the family, in the unfamiliar place. She truthfully said that even if she accepted the marriage and returned, she couldn't love him.
Brilliant performance by Rhea and Avinesh. Commendable acting and execution of scene and even the direction and aura was aesthetically pleasing. A wonderful experience.
Thank you
