Okay so jannat emotes very well, and actually makes you feel terrible for her character. Actresses older than her seem to struggle with these emotional scenes, and you can't sympathise with their pain and tears, but this is also owing to jannat's acting experience from a young age.

However, despite all this, her age, and the decision made to cast her in such a bold role/ show disturbs me a lot. Jannat is only 14-15 years old for crying out loud and is playing the role of a 19 year old mistress to a man significantly older to her, who calls her by derogatory names and talks dirty to her, and now she will be doing a scene where she does mujra in front of some pervy older men.

How are her parents not finding their decision to let their little girl do such a mature role wrong, and does nobody find this disturbing at all? Maybe some may think I'm being too sensitive, over-thinking and finding faults, but when it comes to minors, can anything ever be considered over-thinking in concern for them?

It just still bothers me to no ends that such a mature role was given to a young teen of her age. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way?

Btw, I also have to give a kudos to ritvik arora for his performace when he confronted JD. it's the first time his performance in the show has pleased me, otherwise I usually feel unsatisfied with his daily performance. His expressions to his dialogue delivery were all great in that scene. 👏

She is neither 14 or 15. She is 16 and jannat herself has confirmed that...
Even i felt the same when i first saw her performing such a bold role...

But now many have got used to see.her as pankti and i dont think a replacement at this pt wud be a good decision..so lets just enjoy the story...its getting interesting day by day 😊

so true thats the only drawback for this serial as everything is suoerb be it direction screen play n different story sensitive topic of forced prostitution ...
but how long can u stretch the show with such leads ? thats the main question as there will be a time where demand for romance in show would be required ...

plus all your mentioned points were bang on.

I have seen her shoot pics n videos ...daily shoot is done on 12 hours basis ...such hectic schedule puts lot of pressure on actors that even adult actors go into depression stress n here she is only a kid. :(
its not like u go to shopping for 2 hrs its bloody 12 hrs whole day on set working learning scripts n than performing.

at her age she should be going to school college living her life like a normal kids do...not working like a monkey 12 hrs ...
Let her turn 18 or 20 complete her studies be little grown up n than do watever proffession u want.

there is no explaination for why parents do that to their children. She has been working since childhood :(

The show is good and all but I still have trouble watching it because of Jannat's age. And knowing that Ahaan in real life is around 25 makes it worse. All these child actors are growing up way too fast. I was shocked to see Siddharth Nigam's role in Chandra Nandini. He too is only 16 and some of the scene made me cringe. Jannat just turned 16 last month or something. It is just really difficult to watch some of the scenes. And the fandoms online that pair jannat with ritvik when they probably have a 10 year age gap in real life while she is underage... in their interviews she usually looks uncomfortable...
I am not looking forward to the time when the show will enter a phase where the two leads will have to marry... knowing indian tv fans will want more romance, and thought alone makes me uncomfortable. I thought the whole casting much younger girls as leads opposite older guys was a practice from the south... not here.
Seeing these kids actors like jannat, siddharth, avneet and all move forward in their careers is nice, especially knowing the amount of dedication they put towards their career... and they are talented, no doubt, and thank god they have good support systems in the form of their family, but at the end of the day it feels like yesterday I was watching all of them be kids onscreen and now they are playing leads who are older and act more mature than their real age... I want to be supportive of these talents because they are professional... but I really don't want to see underage kids play out such roles... especially romance sequences. I wish there were more teen oriented shows made with more age apt characters.

I am looking forward to this new entry... hopefully it will give more screen space to purva and take off the pressure from jannat to perform some intense scenes.

thank you so much for bringing this up. I honestly thought I was the only one. I just feel bad that Jannat has to wear sooo much makeup and very high heels to make up for her age onscreen... sometimes the makeup is too much for the scene she is enacting too.

Jannat is 16 or 17 years old. She posted a pic of her Aadhaar Card on Insta I believe, when the show just started. And Rithvik is just 20 years old as per many interviews of him. Frankly, I'm sure Jannat's parents aren't forcing her into acting, she is acting because she likes this profession. So instead of passing judgements, we should appreciate their hardwork.Peace.
