Generally standards are pretty high but there were at least 2 Kolkatta Singers and they seem very smooth and good. We must thank the Bengalis for high standards in singing and thank the Punjabis for lots of "Heavy Sounds and enjoyable dance beats" and also thank the singers of the Sufi genre, mostly Pakistanis and Pujabis and others. I noticed several NFK songs being sung, and these songs may determine the winner as the really capture the soul. Hope we find another Kailash Kher!!!!!!!!!👏👏👏

From Eklava Gharana, the third singer Shoulmen Nandi sings "Saiyyan". Very good.

On the very first show July04/08 when I heard the singers I predict in one of my posts that this year's winner would be a Bengali contestants. Each gharana has one Bengali contestants plus I think there are 2 contestants in Eklava gharana in all there are 6 Bengali contestants and they are all good. I have to see how much they will improve in the future episodes and who has the potential to win.

Yes Bengalis have dominated, unless there are too many Bengalis in which case the vote could be divided. But there could be an upset this time round. But generally I consider those in the Top 10 as very good. I prefer a singer who excels in a certain song type rather than a "Jack of All Trades"; unless we have a Super Jack of All Trades like RAFI Shaab or Kishoreda.

Thats diff to get more because of the lack of dedication among current ones as compared to them....still we hv Sonu. hoping for the best that these reality shows give us one such singer... thats exactly what even ashaji wished and commented upon while talking about these shows.

Sonuji as a singer is unbelievable but for playback sometimes his voice may not be so suitable for a leading actor. Same with our good friend Kailash Kher who is phenomenal except the voice is not suitable for a leadiing actor.

So we still need to look for a Rafi Shaab, who was a prodigy and very gifted.

I am just loving all the sufi singers in this show.. They are just awesome 👏 They can even sing classical better.. I would prefer to listen to sufi any day compared to the Beedi jalaile or O Mahiya songs.. But ya, lets see if we can get one versatile singer here.. Each one played safe in the introductory round by singing songs of their own genre.. Lets see wat the future has for us 😊

why no one talks of 60s and 70s classical and semi classical songs, don't you think we have enough sufi singers established and more in pipeline..?

Soumen Nandi in the Eklavya Gharana is the champion of Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Monisha Karmakar in Himmesh's team was the runner up.

The judges for the show were Talat Aziz, Shantanu Moitra (Parineeta, Lage Raho Munnabhai fame) and one veteran lady singer (forgot her name but she is very respectable)

I have noticed that in Zee Bangala Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the judges are really good singers and composers and they do not blabber like Himmesh. They are very polite and they give very constructive feedback to the participants. The contestants does not wear flashy clothes and they mainly concentrate on the singing only. I laud the judges of Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for picking up the best and not playing any dirty politics.
