The 2024 BAFTAs took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday, and there was no shortage of star power on the red carpet. Ever an awards-season highlight, the ceremony honoured some of the best films and performances of the last year – and saw leading nominees, such as Margot Robbie, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper turn out for the affair. Compared to major US events, such as the Golden Globes or Critics’ Choice Awards, the A-listers in London approached the step and repeat with a little more playfulness and whimsy; they embraced classic Hollywood glamour, but had fun with their looks, too.

For one thing, strong, impactful colours seemed to dominate the red carpet this evening. While Poor Things star Emma Stone donned a peach Louis Vuitton gown with a one-shouldered silhouette that took over 450 hours to create, Dua Lipa wore the colour of the season – red! – in an ethereal Valentino number complete with a long, flowing cape. But even the more muted hues managed to shine. Just take Taylor Russell in her custom white Loewe dress, which featured hip cut-outs and a feathered trim at the waist and hemline. Call it a pared-back take on maximalism.
As for the best-dressed gentlemen of the night? Traditional suiting got modern updates thanks to some unexpected accents and accessories: Colman Domingo chose a custom black Boss suit, styled with a white shirt and whimsical bowed neck tie. Below, see our best-dressed stars from the 2024 BAFTAs.
