Stars who showed potential from first film itself

Someone said yesterday that they liked Deepika from first film itself.

I agree it was a dream debut.

Which stars you liked from first film itself?

Or felt they showed great spark from their first film itself?

For me it would be Salman, SRK, Aamir, Hrithik, Deepika, Ranveer, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, who showed spark from first films itself. Solid debuts.

Who else, as per you?

Hrithik, Ashutosh Rana, Ameesha Patel, Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor

For me, it was very rare that an actor caught my attention as the movie, the character and then the acting make an impact. It's easier with TV shows where you see the actors everyday and their acting seems more impressive as they shoot daily and start living the character. For me one such actor is Rajeev Khandelwal.

Hrithik. Nobody can ever replicate the mania he created by the turn of this millenium.

Vidya Balan had an amazing debut. She was perfect in Parineeta.

Kangana ( i still cant believe that she ruined it)

Kareena and Ranbr were really good in their debut movie.

I agree Kangana was really good for her age and without any formal training in acting, in Gangster.

A very good debut and she used to look like a dream back then with her petite frame, innocent face, emotive eyes.

Ashutosh Rana was fabulous. Highly effective. It did not even look like first film.

Atul Kulkarni (didn't know chandani bar was his first)

John Abraham (i thought he is the next villian material)

Kareena (liked her in refugee)

Abhishek sticks out like a sore thumb in this list to be honest. He was just bland, not just in his first film but in almost all his films, until Dhoom happened.

I would rather add following to the list.

Shilpa Shetty (despite her unconventional looks & Baazigar being an out-and-out SRK film, she stood out)
Mahima Chaudhary (She was damn good in Pardes)
Akshya Khanna (He was hailed as the next big thing in late 90s.)
Preeti Zinta (Dil Se & Soldier were hits, and she bagged all the limelight)
Vivek Oberoi (He was good in Company, so much wasted potential, because of wrong choices)
Rimi Sen (decent start with Hungama, but she relegated herself to doing similar roles and faded)
Vidya Balan (hard to believe now that she had to struggle for years before Parineeta happened to her)

Oh yeah I had totally forgotten about Mahima and Preity.

Both were really good for their first films and had good looks and screen presence.

Akshay Kumar.. won my heart.. as he came in Saugandh doing a head stand..

Hrithik Roshan.. his debut will always be the biggest hit.
