TV actor Anuj Sachdeva reveals police yet to take strict action against accused in his assault case

TV actor Anuj Sachdeva (40) is speaking out about the lack of action from police after he was assaulted by Pradeep Singh. Despite filing a complaint, Anuj claims the authorities haven't taken strict measures against the accused. Anuj shared his frustration, stating he's not getting the support he expected from the police. The actor sustained injuries during the altercation and is now seeking justice.

A parking dispute escalated into violence on December 14, with actor Anuj Sachdeva allegedly being assaulted by Pradeep Singh, a member of his housing society. The incident reportedly involved Pradeep hitting Anuj with a stick and issuing threats. The Bangur Nagar police have taken cognisance of the matter, registering an FIR and issuing a notice to the accused, Pradeep Singh, in connection with the assault.

Speaking to The FPJ, Sachdeva said, I expect the police to take strict action. If something like this can happen to me, a common citizen has nowhere to go. Usually, ordinary people approach the police or local leaders for help. The accused’s act amounted to an attempt to murder. However, the FIR has not been registered under the attempt-to-murder section, and different sections have been applied. I hope the police correct this. Mumbai Police are trustworthy, but if no action is taken, I am thinking about what will happen to ordinary citizens.

He added, If I had raised my hand, everyone would have criticised me. Even my dog did not bite anyone; he only barked.

What exactly happened with Anuj?

Anuj Sachdeva, 40, reported an assault by Pradeep Singh, a fellow resident, following a dispute over parking and the actor's dog. The incident took place on December 14th at Harmony Mall Residency in Goregaon West. Sachdeva filed a complaint, and an FIR was registered against Singh at Bangur Nagar police station on Monday. Sachdeva also shared a video of the assault on social media.

Anuj Sachdeva, a resident of Goregaon West, was involved in an altercation with Pradeep Singh, a fellow resident, on the night of December 14. The incident began when Sachdeva posted a photograph of a car parked outside a designated parking slot in the society's WhatsApp group at around 10:30 pm. Singh, who resides in flat 602, A Wing, became enraged upon seeing the post and approached Sachdeva, who was walking his dog, Simba, in the parking area.

The situation escalated when Singh refused to remove his car and began arguing with Sachdeva. The argument intensified when Singh became further agitated by the dog's barking and attempted to hit Simba with a wooden stick. However, Priyanka Pereira, who was with Sachdeva, intervened and moved the dog to safety. Singh's aggressive behavior and actions led to Sachdeva filing a complaint with the Bangur Nagar police, resulting in an FIR being registered against him.

Pradeep Singh allegedly attacked Anuj Sachdeva with a wooden stick, striking him on the head, back, and right leg, and causing injuries. He also threatened to kill the actor. The assault stopped when the society watchman intervened, and Singh fled the scene. Singh reportedly boasted that the police couldn't take action against him. After getting medical treatment, Anuj filed a complaint, leading to an FIR against Pradeep Singh under BNS Sections 118(2) and 351(3).
