Possibly the best review of the film from a technically brilliant auteur himself!!!! Please do read both the posts in full if you are a lover of cinema!!!

I cannot tell you how touched I am by this.smiley19...RGV is the gold standard in reviewing a movie....He never holds back nor does he give false praise...Anyway, brb....have to read at least a few times to soak it all in....This is the first time I am seeing him give such a looong review.....

EDIT: Lol....his 1st point...about the so called pan India film makers who give the hero unrealistic elevation with ear deafening bG music to forcefully make the audience worship him......Man....is he going to upset a lot of his colleagues or what....but then they know him and how he doesn't hesitate to call a spade a spade...

And his appreciation for Ranveer is the best yet and most honest one that Ranveer has ever received during this entire stint....

Unlike the other so called pan india big films , the film doesn’t even try to elevate the hero and give him the so called elevation moments to make the audience forcefully worship him with the use of slow motion and ear splitting background music . It actually lets his flaws and the related consequences coexist, thus making the audience tense instead of giving a clap trap applause.. it is incredible that @RanveerOfficial the star steps back to allow #akshayekhanna to fill the frame because that is the requirement of the story and is a testament to Ranveer’s understanding of cinema'

Ranveer....again going back to his promise that this one is to make his fans proud.....Thank you....Being a cinema fan, this is my biggest cinematic experience...I would have loved this movie even if Ranveer wasn't there, but having your favorite in the midst of such a cinematic marvel has just taken it to another level....

Lastly about Aditya, I came for Ranveer but stayed back for Aditya...smiley27

Farhan Akhtar, SSR...all auteurs. Would not add Aditya Chopra to the list though cause he does not have a distinct style nor was his best film made by him, more ghost directed by his Dad who was a true auteur.

His biggest game changer - Shiva...

He literally made that movie from a small room in Chennai whose rent was also paid by Nagarjuna's dad because he didn't have a single penny.

Yes ! Farhan. In 20 years,DCH will still make my Top 10 list. How it made me feel.

Ofcourse the one and only SSR. He changed the scene completely..including,showing that sky is the limit at the BO.He penetrated the inpenetrable North interior.

Manava, manava....:) ...it's not his movie though....

Kshanam Kshanam, Govinda Govinda, Antam, Money, Anaganaga oka roju - are some of the ek se badkar ek paisa vasool type movies he made in his native language Telugu and then he moved on to Mumbai.....he was the one who introduced the crisp dialogues and realistic stunts with apt background music replacing the 'dishoom dishooms'....
