Falak Khan’s journey in the entertainment industry reflects her belief in versatility and meaningful storytelling. Having worked across films, festival circuits, and television, the actress feels that every medium has added a new dimension to her craft. Known for her work in projects like Rang, Soch, Vaasta, Bandhan Tute Na and VanRakshak, Falak has also been a part of critically acclaimed FTII films - Saray and the internationally recognised Champaran Mutton, which reached the Oscar semifinals. These experiences, she says, have shaped her understanding of cinema and strengthened her foundation as a performer who values depth over labels.

Opening up about breaking the usual industry norms, Falak shares, “In today’s world, actors either do television or films, but I am doing both. Normally, this doesn’t happen, so what made me do this? Because I believe in versatility. And regarding this character, I’m playing a negative role for the first time. I want to explore my credibility and versatility as an actor. And for any medium or project, I don’t see it as TV or films; I see it as a character. And if I see the potential and if I see that I can explore myself more as an actor, then I take it as a challenge, and I want to do it, and I want to give my best. I have done films, festival films that went to the Oscars, and I’ve also done FTII films, which are quite critically acclaimed. And again, normally there’s a typecasting: ‘TV actor, TV actor,’ but I don’t think of it that way. I just take it as a good character. Whatever platform it is, it doesn’t matter to me.

Speaking further about her experience on television, Falak adds, “TV teaches you endurance and emotional honesty. You perform every day, and that consistency sharpens you as an actor. The audience becomes a part of your journey, and that connection is something very special. Playing layered characters, especially a negative role for the first time, has pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me discover new shades within myself.

Currently seen in Sehar Hone Ko Hai, Falak Khan continues to carve her path by focusing on strong characters rather than being confined by the boundaries of any single platform.
