Why is he doing this to himself?

He mentioned long ago that doctors had advised him to stop working and that he was losing his eyesight (his words, not mine). 

That sounds painful.

I get that he wants to work for as long as possible, but at what cost.

Big B needs to chill. 

Rent a boat, go to the Caribbean and fish and frolic in the water.
