Prologue
"Priya, what are you searching for?"
“Some useful notes for my English lectures, Ram," answered Priya while shuffling her files.
Ram, who was munching on a donut, held her hand tight and took it out of the drawer. "Ho gaya? Now go! Meera maa and my saalis are waiting for you. I will find your lecture notes and will keep them on the table."
"You? Are you sure?" Priya asked her tidy husband, who nodded his head in affirmation. There was a glittering light in his grey orbs that made her suspicious.
She shook her head and warned, "Don't you dare to check any other stuff in my drawer!”
"Jo agya, devi ji," he quipped and smiled behind her retreating back when she left.
A informal mischievous grin appeared on his face for a moment, and then he got busy and then got engulfed searching for the lecture notes.
"Priya bhi na,” he murmured. “What is the need to search for the notes now?"
Then he his hand felt touched a bundle, in his palm which he extracted carefully.
"I got them!" he exclaimed happily.
He kept the bunch of papers on the table, when he thought, "Yaar Ram, check toh kar le.”
As he checked the bundle, his orbs widened in shock were out of the sockets. A lone tear fell from his eye and suddenly, the clouds, swollen with summer rain, burst into heavy showers.
He came out of his penthouse and this was the first time he didn't want to get drenched in the rain when the same time. Just then, Priya entered.
"Ram! Maa aur meri behene to aayi hi nahin. Aap ne mujhse aisa kyun-"
Before she could complete her question, she witnessed Ram in the pouring rain. It was a heavy rain. She came out with an umbrella and said, "Ram, I know you love getting drenching in the rain but it is falling too heavily."
She kept him under the umbrella over his head, and admonished, "Aap bimaar padh jayenge."
"Thank you for the only favour you have ever done for me - this umbrella," he remarked sarcastically.
Priya shrugged her shoulders. After living with you…I have started to love this the rains," she confessed softly.
"You might have, but I have started to hate them," he taunted.
Priya's smile lessened, "Aap ko kya hua hai?"
He laughed, "Pyaar se bharosa uth gaya hai."
"Ram!" She shouted out loud and...
He walked away with the umbrella, letting her drenched in the heavy rain. In his hand were the papers, the ones he would never want to discuss with her.
