Are u serious? Half of Mumbai is illegally constructed. In fact other than the 7 original islands, the rest of the city isn't even constructed on land.
Many educational institutions, buildings and even worship sites are illegal and the local residents also know it. Why not demolish those? And isn't there a rule of No Demolition till 30th Sept due to COVID ?
I don’t know much about Mumbai. In my city, many times illegally constructed houses are demolished. (But usually they are the ones, which are built in green belt region, which is not legally converted for residential buildings). Another rule, which is usually broken by people even in city centre is the amount of unbuilt area in the plot. (Only 60 to 70% area of the plot should be used for construction. But people use 80 to 90%, as the plot is premium).
Here, what I am seeing in the notice is, a toilet converted to bedroom, bed room converted to bathroom etc. That is internal change.
Yes we do apply for planning permission while building a house. But nobody cares for internal change. I don’t know what is happening here. I don’t want to argue for illegal construction. But when you say, half of Mumbai is illegally constructed, that is huge. Can you name any prominent buildings, houses that are illegal?
Demolishing a ramp outside Mannat cannot be compared to this. Road is a public property, not Sharukh’s.
