Are Rani's films are more versatile than Kajol's films?

Kajol's movies - 

Baazigar -falls in love with her sister's murderer and tries to avenge the murder of her sister

Gupt - played a psychopathic serial killer

Dushman - Avenges the murder of her sister

KKHH - tomboy student that falls in love with her best friend

Dil Kya Kare - mum that is forced to give up her daughter for adoption and tries to get her back

Fanaa - blind woman that falls in love with a terrorist and has a son with him 

MNIK - Hindu single mum that falls in love with a Muslim with Asperger's syndrome and avenges the murder of her son

We are Family - single mum with cancer

Dilwale - gangster that falls in love with a man from her rival's family

Helicopter Eela - helicopter mum

Tribhanga - single mum that doesn't get along with her mum 

Salaam Venky - plays a mum to a terminal son

The Trial - plays a lawyer with an unfaithful husband

Devi - victim of rape and murder

Lust Stories - sexually abused by her husband

Do Patti - police officer

Rani's movies

KKHH - educated and posh woman that falls in love with her school friend

Chori Chori Chupke Chupke - woman with fertility issues and has a child via surrogacy

Chalte Chalte/Saathiya - has problems in her marriage with her husband

Veer Zaara - lawyer

Bunty Aur Babli - con artist

Black - blind woman

KANK -   cheats on her husband 

Laaga Chunari Main Daag/Saawariya - plays a prostitute

No one Killed Jessica - plays a reporter about a crime

Mardaani - police officer

Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway - mother that fights to get her children back 

I don't see much difference. But I think if Kajol did do Black or Laaga Chunari or KANK, she couldn't have pulled it off the way Rani did. I also think Rani couldn't have played Anjali's character in KKHH or a psychopath in Gupt the way Kajol did. I still prefer Rani to Kajol because Kajol has over-acted in some of her films like in K3G and Tribhanga. 

Most of the times when we talk about versatility I see people mentioning movies with varied subjects.One must understand choosing different subjects does not make one a versatile actor but how they portray it.

I don’t find either very versatile but still if I have to choose I’ll go with Rani because her script sense has been very good in the later part of her career..and she has done justice to most of the roles.

According to me, Kajol's career is frothy stuff. The blind Woman in Fanaa cannot be compared to the Blind/Mute/Deaf woman in Black.

YES definitely.....Rani is better looking....better actress....and more versatile than Kajol....Kajol is average at best.

I am a kajol fan but feel that rani has better movies then kajol. It's only been in the last couple of years where i feel that kajol has done character driven roles. I really loved her in Lust stories. I love the roles she has taken recently.
