War created history as it collected the highest first day in history of around 50 crore nett. The film beat the numbers of Thugs Of Hindostan by around 2 crore nett despite being released on far lesser screens. War was released on around 3800 plus screens in Hindi. The 50 crore nett apprx apprx are for the Hindi version and the regional versions would have added a little more. The film could have done 55 crore nett if there was no competition from other releases. Its a huge start from the film across the country though collections were hit in South by Syeraa Narasimha Reddy and Gujarat has Navratri. Joker did average on day one while Syeraa Narasimha Reddy was poor in Hindi. The apprx first day collections of the three films are as follows.
War - 50,00,00,000
Joker - 5,75,00,000
Syeraa Narasimha Reddy (hindi) - 1,50,00,000
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WHOLE TEAM OF WAR β€ Especially Hrithik and Tiger!

War was the seventh bumper opening in the 19 year career of Hrithik Roshan while it was the first of Tiger Shroff though a mention has to be made of Baaghi 2 as that was bumper in most parts and had it been a major holiday instead of a minor one then it would also have had bumper collections in the big multiplexes.
The last bumper opening for Hrithik Roshan was Agneepath in 2012 while after that had Bang Bang and Krrish 3 (pre diwali) had excellent openings. If we take out Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham the list below pretty much shows in which zones the public wants to see these actors. How eventually the films did is on the content but both actors have a huge audience waiting when in this zone. The bumper openings of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff are as follows.
Hrithik Roshan
1. Mission Kashmir (2000)
2. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001)
3. Koi Mil Gaya (2003)
4. Krrish (2006)
5. Dhoom 2 (2006)
6. Agneepath (2012)
7. War (2019)
Tiger Shroff

Edited by shogun - 4 years agoWow. This was always going to be a massive hit but the scale of the opening is amazing. Always knew Tiger was going to be a huge box office star. He just has that elusive *it* and has connected with the audience big time. And Hrithik, well there is no one quite like him when he's ON. Big congrats to the team.
Hrithik's movie crossed the lifetime of Judgemental Hai Kya by more than 10 crores in only one day π
