Perhaps back then villains werent really glorified or liked that much. They were the likes of Gulshan Grover/Shakti Kapoor who were appreciated but not "superstars"

Same thing with Kajol in Gupt it was pathbreaking to say the least.

So I could see Sunny thinking he has the upper hand by playing the good guy but he also shouldnt be salty that SRK did better. You cant always be the best thing in every movie.

Recalling the incident, the actor said, "I was doing a scene in the film where Shah Rukh stabs me. I had a heated discussion with Yash Chopra regarding that scene. I tried explaining that I am a commando officer in the film, my character is an expert, I am very fit, then how can this boy (Shah Rukh's character in the film) beat me easily. He can beat me if I can't see him. If he can stab me while I am looking at him, then I won't be called a commando."

He added, "Since Yash ji was old, I respected him and couldn't say anything. I put my hands inside my pocket as I was very angry. Soon, out of anger, I didn't even realise that I had ripped my pants with my hands."

Sunny was asked if he didn't talk to Shah Rukh for 16 years after the film. He replied, "It's not that I didn't talk but I just cut myself off and I anyway don't socialise much. So we never met, toh baat karne ki baat he nahi hai."

Excerpt from his interview. So he didn't talk with SRK cause he didn't socialize much. Not cause of the tiff due to the roles.... And his argument about SRK's character hitting the commando, does make sense in a way...

@bold: So as usual media came up with a sensational headline to grab eyeballs to increase trps and views.   😕

Yes he might be guilty for killing her but I don't think she kept any choice to him . So he and his wife and family all together that's a win .

I didn’t mind her dying as I have wanted her to die since the middle of the show as dying and having peace is better than such a life she was living with pathetic evil ppl. Also, she did few wrongs in the end so for me death is okay and fair since unlike that homewrecker fans who don’t find anything wrong with homewrecker I recognized when the main lead did wrongs. She finally got the peace and I was happy with it leaving the male lead filled with guilt and regret. And the homewrecker as always was left as sidekick even in the last episode and the second choice for the husband. He was always obsessed with the main lead even after marrying the homewrecker and apparently kept the bullet names with his ex-wife closer than anyone and anything according to homewrecker’s words and what we could also see in the show. In normal cases I would’ve felt bad for such a wife whose husband is still hung up on his ex-wife and kept her close in his psyche, but she herself chose this life for herself by always interfering between a married couple and despite knowing the husband loved his wife, she wanted him. I found it a just punishment that all her life she wanted him even after he was married to someone else yet she was obsessed with him over even her own parents’ life who gave her the best life a child could ever get. Yet despite getting him physically, the husband was never with her mentally or emotionally. And then more than him, later she wanted a child which she never could get and was infertile. I always thought she was obsessed with him and wanted him the most even over her parents, but she ended up wanting child more in the end and her karma was that she couldn’t get that. She had to get it through the same ex wife she hated the most and with S2 coming, it doesn’t seem that child is even hers as most had suspected. Such a pathetic life. Always second option by the man she was obsessed the most for whom she even sacrificed her father’s killer just to get the married man she was obsessed with and then wanting child over same obsession just tells how badly she was craving for child yet she couldn’t get. She was unhappy all the years when the ex wife was away and still couldn’t remain happy as she thought she would. It shows you don’t get to have happy life over the ruins of another woman’s happiness and what was someone else’s. She had everything and had no excuse unlike the main lead. Best parents, brother, friends yet she ruined everything and in the end wasn’t happy either and had miserable life. The main lead had worst parents, no friends, her own parent wanting her dead since she was born, and her life was with sorrow with cheater husband, abusing mother-in-law, homewrecker to deal with and so on, but she left the life with peace and won by giving life to a beautiful child and leaving the pathetic ppl crying over her and filling the man’s life with guilt forever. I was glad she was finally away from such ppl. That cheater husband and mistress deserved one another having life filled with unhappiness as they always were. No woman deserves such husband except homewrecerks and women like her. It’s only cos of the trauma, abuse and everything the main lead had gone through since childhood that she couldn’t see that but she did realize in the end yet she couldn’t stop loving. But she died in peace so she’s finally free from that too. Homewrecker and cheater deserve to remain miserable. Main lead deserved better which she got finally.

Anyway, for me most were losers. The only difference is I could still understand the main lead as she had reasons for why she was so desperate for love as she was never given love since she was born and why she wanted the care and love in her life so much. Also any wife wouldn’t tolerate a homewrecker obsessed after her husband. But others had everything since childhood yet acted worse than her especially the homewrecker. So the homewrecker was a complete looser. She had everything yet chose a miserable life for herself. Let’s see what happens in S2.

I think u and I both saw the show 😆Dont need tell me this. The person whom u call homewrecker even when she was out of India for three years the obsessive lead couldn't do anything much. Infact much worse she planted psyco ex in her life. The same person whom u called homewrecker supported her when her mother in law don't support their relationship. What she did was fake pregnancy and fake miscarriage to throw her out.

Her love to make him alone and weak. The only reason for unsuccessful relationship. He tried to make her alright but she didn't want to heal herself so she never took medicines. She never killed her father for her obsession. She wanted proofs for saving ayaan who could jailed for manhandling a woman but was framed for crime of rape he didn't do.

Lastly she wasn't after the married couple .In the beginning of show Maya called her up to her home showing a different crazy side to her .She was protecting her love from her .Later it's her who accepted their relationship. Maya made plans to make him alone from his family and her.Her definition of love to make a person weak and alone .

I think you watched a different show. Maya didn’t plant Samay in homewrecker’s life. He himself planted himself as he himself confessed to Maya that he did to get close to Maya and come in her life. Later when he met maya, maya didn’t mind either and wanted him to be busy with her. Why wouldn’t she? No wife would tolerate a girl like her. But fact is she didn’t plant him in her life. He himself did it years ago in London. So don’t say something else which wasn’t shown. Giving orgasm expressions hugging married man when the wife just burnt her hands to save this ungrateful homewrecker’s life from fire. Rather than being thankful, she was busy hugging her husband and giving disgusting expressions. She was so supportive that she went behind Mayas back to meet her husband late night and kissing a married man. Then next day without any regret over what happened last night she starts putting colors on him before his wife could and do dirty dance with him and then denying anything was wrong with at all and physically abusive with wife when the wife questions her. Maya was fine with her until she started meeting her husband behind her back, trying lip kissing him, hugging him and all. She considered her a friend sort of which is why she even saved her life risking her own life. But homewrecker never had any shame or regret over her actions and that is when Maya threw her out of her husband’s life as any wife’s would. You conveniently leave out facts and events which lead to Maya’s actions.

Yes we saw her proofs for saving Ayaan when the court case was all about proving how Maya was bad wife to Arjun and how they always had problems. Even the judge then had to tell her that the case isn’t about Arjun and Maya’s marriage but about Aryan. She was obsessed with proofing Maya bad to Arjun which arjun, her mom and Samay all told her to let go but she never did and couldn’t care less. She led her own obsessions to her father’s death whom always loved her. But for this shameless daughter a married man was everything and what his wife was up to. Later, she let go of her father’s murderer Samay just so she can get back at Maya so she can get a married man.  I would say no father should have a daughter like her. And she was shameless as a woman that she completely saw the video that Ayaan was physically abusive to Maya and also sexually assaulted her by tearing her clothes and mouthing disgusting dialogues. Yet all she said was how Ayaan was innocent. And btw, Maya didn’t frame him for rape. She framed him for trying to rape. He didn’t intend to rape, but he definitely did physically and sexual assault Maya for which Maya should’ve put him behind bars rather than bringing rape into it. This homewrecker saw everything but kept defending Ayaan. She’s shameless. For her hate towards Maya, she kept going and on and ignored her parents too. And btw, She didn’t accept Maya and Arjun’s relationship. She was forced to get out from their lives by Maya and Arjun finally. It’s not like she decided to get out. Until the last day she was doing dirty dance with him and the night before trying to kiss him. So please don’t leave out facts and say something just to defend her. For you she may be innocent, for most she wasn’t. That’s why you still don’t understand why majority loved and sympathized with her and not the homewrecker. And don’t bring the same old excuse that ppl loved the actress and that’s why supported the character because I didn’t love the actress nor I was a fan. In fact, I used to dislike her and I am still not a fan. Many were not her fans and now the show is getting aired in so many places and at those places too most love Maya and dislike Saanjh. Those people don’t even know the actresses behind the characters.

It’s simple they dislike homewreckers like her who keep interfering between couple and obsessed with married man and sympathized with Maya given her childhood and how her character was written which made masses connect with her the most. It’s fact any wife would get depressed and will either end up getting a divorce or be depressed and stay in a miserable marriage if they have a girl like Saanjh after her marital life and husband like the one shown who have such toxic relation with a girl like saanjh and don’t have any boundary. Most wives wouldn’t take some of the actions Maya did, but they will end up in horrible mess and will end up depressed and divorced. Maya’s few actions were wrong but that doesn’t mean she was wrong for feeling this way towards the characters in the show which is what most connected with. Also, Maya’s wrongs were shown towards the end Of the show and in the beginning till the most end she was a victim. So people already loved and connected with her the most. Last few months of the show don’t make people change their feelings fast especially when they know what lead to her being this way and how horrible others characters were. Also, the end was completely on her side which again made audience love and have sympathy for her.

And I forgot to add: Saanjh was a bitch for treating depression as something evil. Instead of being sympathetic towards Maya, she treated her like some dirty thing who didn’t deserve love and happiness just because she had depression and made it seem like Maya was hiding HIV or AIDS. Since then I have disliked her more. The show’s portrayal towards mental illness was disgusting to say the least.

How he is justified even with murder because he is trying to protect what he thinks is love that is actually obsession? But everyone can see that he has mental issues and is dangerous. So I don't think it is glorification. Rather giving the audience a glimpse in the obsessive stalker's psych.   Indian films, especially in the 90s, always used songs to show complex emotions or display things that would otherwise take a long time to display in fast motion. Although they used the song to show that in his head the character thought what he was doing was for love at the same time they left no stone unturned to show that he was dangerous and mentally unstable. Again he dies at the end. In the 90s where many rapists use to end up with a happy ending, I think Darr was a huge step up. Yes, Sharukh's character was given lots of importance that why we even got to see his psych and dream world. The same way the actor playing the stalker in "YOU" is getting a lot of acclaims because the show literally revolves around him. I still don't think it is villain glorification more like villain prominence in a story, which might have been what Sunny was mad about.

I love that snow. Can’t wait for second season. The lead guy is creepy. Who stalks that way? I was scared while watching lmao. More than murders, it was the creepy stalking which disturbed me because it’s really easy to find people info online like it was exactly shown. I felt bad for the girl, but she became such a bitch towards the end. Cheated him and pretended to be innocent making the guy look as crazy which he believed until he finally found out her cheating. She didn’t deserve to die though. I love American shows’ portrayal of such people as they always give justified and proper deal to all characters unlike Indian movies or shows. I have yet to come across an Indian movie or show which were fair and mature to such characters and at the least sensitive to mental illness’ portrayal. I am not sure though if the guy in YOU does have mental issues or just a complete freak. Either way I watch American show freely as I don’t have to worry that they will make fun of mental illness or give injustice to characters. Love American shows ❤️
