PreeRan - The Mysterious Aftermath PART 3 PAGE 3!!

Preeta: Karan, utho, Karan... Karan.

Karan doesn't move, nor does he open his eyes. Preeta looks visibly worried and notices the engine on fire. She thinks to herself that they have to get out of the car, but how can they, when Karan isn't even responding to her. She starts to panic but then calms herself down thinking she has to do something and save both of them from this mess. She slowly tries to move out of the broken, toppled Porsche and limps her way to the other side to get Karan out. She pats his cheeks, but not getting any response prompts her to check for his breath with a shaky hand. She feels his breath and with a huge sigh of relief she drags him out of the car.

Preeta rests Karan against a tree and checks for his pulse rate. She thinks she has to somehow wake him up as his injury will only get worse if he doesn't regain consciousness. She starts to weep as she tries ways to wake him up. It starts to rain and the smoldering fire around the Porsche starts to die down. She leans over him and tries to cover him from getting wet. And as the rain eventually stops, she heaves a huge sigh of relief and sits down and holds Karans face. She wipes his wound with her dupatta and wraps it around his head. And then caresses his face, getting lost in his thoughts. She thinks about all those times she fought with him and starts crying. She holds his face close to her chest and think she will not let anything happen to him.

There are a million questions running through her head how to get out of the woody jungle like area, how to get someone to help them, how to awaken Karan, how to save his life, but most importantly, why she simply cannot bear to see him hurt and unconscious.

Preeta: Karan, utho, main tumse koi jhagda nahi karungi, ab to uth jao?

She tried to joke and starts weeping again. She keeps glancing at his face, how endearing and innocent it looks. She then remembers all those times he stood by her side, and helped her, even though she knows he doesn't like her. She thinks even though he's so unruly at times, he is very sweet and kind at heart. She think no one sees his caring side, as he always acts childish and says stupid things. But she has seen how caring and mature he can be. He can talk sense too.

Preeta keeps wondering why she is thinking about Karan so much, instead of getting help. She is torn between leaving him alone, and going to see if she can find someone to help them. She thinks she can't sit and wait for both of them to die in the lonesome place. So she makes him lie down on a pile of leaves, and starts to shout out for help. She worries about him but keeps searching, hoping to find someone amongst the trees, or perhaps spot a road where she can stop any passing cars. But she is out of luck. Neither does she find anyone around, nor does she find a road or cars. She thinks of returning back but is no longer sure of the route. She starts to panic and starts shouting Karan's name. She then realizes Karan must be lying unconscious so she hurries back frantically.

Meanwhile, Karan sees both of them falling whilst in the car and Preeta screaming for help. He holds on to her hand and tries to reach to her but the car hits the ground soon enough and smashes into pieces. Karan wakes up to realize he must have been imagining it, but is shocked to not find Preeta next to him. He tries to get up and realizes he has broken a few bones but is determined to find Preeta. He reaches his car, half of it burnt to ashes and tries to look for his phone. He doesn't find anything in the rubble. No sign of Preeta either. He starts shouting her name.

Karan: Preeta... Preeta...

Preeta hears her name and realizes its Karan's voice. She is excited and happy and starts running.

Preeta: Karan...

She shouts but Karan is unable to hear her voice.

Karan: Preeta... Preeta...

Preeta keeps following the voice and ends up straight behind him.

Preeta: Karan...

Karan looks back and is so happy to see her. He puts his arms around her and hugs her. He is so relieved. Preeta is taken aback with the hug, but slowly lifts her arms and hugs him back. She feels comfort in his arms and it's no longer a weird sensation for her. She starts weeping again thinking she came so close to losing him. He senses her crying and holds her face.

Karan: Hey, are you okay? Kya hua?

Preeta: Kya hua? Tumhe pata nahi kya hua?

Karan: Huh?

Karan holds his head as it is throbbing with pain and Preeta realizes its where he's been hit.

Preeta: Arre, tum abhi chup raho, yaha aao, aur baitho yaha par.

She signals towards a tree, and notices him limping so gives him support to walk over and sit under the tree. He holds his head and realizes he's been wearing a cloth around his head, and tries to take it off.

Preeta: Nahi, ise mat utaro, tumhe bahut badi chot lagi hai.

Karan realizes that he got so engrossed in finding Preeta that he didn't realize there was something around his head. Karan notices that Preeta's arm is bleeding and gets upset.

Karan: Chot to tumhe bhi lagi hai?

Preeta: Mujhe? Mujhe koi chot wot nahi lagi.

Karan: Achcha, who dekho apne left arm par.

Preeta looks at her arm and notices it has been bleeding all this while.

Preeta: Oh yeh, yeh toh kuch nahi hai, bilkul dard nahi ho raha hai.

Karan: Achcha, toh maine kaun sa kaha ki mujhe dard ho raha hai?

Preeta: Tumhe kuch kehne ki zaroorat nahi hai, tumhari dheemi awaz se hi pata chal jata hai.

Karan realizes he is too weak to keep arguing with her and his eyes start shutting down. But he sees how tenses Preeta looks and he tries to joke to make her laugh.

Karan: Preeta, tumhare chakkar main meri favourite car ka dekho kya hal ho gaya?

Preeta thinks his expensive car is ruined because of her.

Preeta: I'm really very sorry, lekin mujhse bad main jhagad lena, please ahbi nahi, abhi you need to rest.

Karan wonders why Preeta is acting so differently.

Karan: Tumhe kya hua hai? Are you okay?

He whispers as his eyes shut down.

Preeta hold his face and whispers.

Preeta: I'm okay... aur main tumhe chod kar kahi nahi jaaongi.

But she thinks to herself how will they get out of this place. It is dark now and wandering on her own will mean she will lose Karan again. So she makes him lie down, and lifts his head and places on her lap. She sits caressing his hair and wonders what she can do as soon as there is light. She keeps worrying but then looks at his face and gets lost in his thoughts. All the flashback moments make her realize that her dislike for Karan disappeared long time ago and she really likes him now. She would not let anything happen to him.

Preeta: Karan, main har waqt tumhare saath rahungi, aur tumhe kuch nahi hone dungi. You will be okay.

She realizes how silly that sounded and thinks she should get some rest too, and closes her eyes.

Preeta wakes up to a man humming a tune, and as she slowly opens her eyes, she realizes there is someone around there. She starts to shout for help, whilst still holding Karan's face in her lap.

Preeta: Koi hai? Help... bachao... Yaha par...

The man stops his humming and hurries in Preeta's direction with his axe. Preeta is relieved to see him but she gets scared seeing the big axe in his hand. The guy senses Preeta's fear and tells him he just came to cut some wood for his home. He notices both Karan and Preeta are hurt and offers to take them to his home which is half an hour away. Preeta wonders how she will walk for so long as she is limping already, but the thought of getting help for Karan builds the will power for her.

Karan opens his eyes as Preeta gets up and tries to get him upright with the help of the woodsman.

Karan: Arre, I'm okay. Tum apne aap ko sambhalo...

Preeta: Karan please...

Karan: Maine kaha na...

Preeta: Shh!

Preeta puts her finger on his lips to prevent him from speaking any further.

Preeta: Tum waise hi bahut weak ho, aur baat karke energy mat waste karo. Itni to baat man sakte ho na?

Karan looks at Preeta, and sees her concern for him and nods.

The woodsman says he needs to get his cart back to his home, and Preeta says she can support Karan on their way back. Preeta pretends to not limp, bearing all her pain as she doesn't want Karan to worry about her.

As they are walking along, Preeta looks at Karan and thanks God for saving his life and for sending the woodsman as a miracle helper. She thinks she wants nothing more than for Karan to get better and she promises to herself that from this point on, she will only be nice to him. She couldn't be rude or angry with him even if she wanted to. She realizes he's starting to have an effect on her, something has changed.

Mahiya, kya hua jo dil kho gaya... plays in background. She looks at him and smiles.
