Yes he is.

I am not 100% sure but remember reading somewhere that he was head of Psychiatry department of Pune's Sassoon Hospital at one time.

Never been to a psychiatrist 😃 but I think they must have done research before showing us that way...

Maybe sitting face to face initially the patient would not be comfortable to talk about himself/herself...its like revealing abt yourself in front of a doctor for the first time...thats my thought.

It is logical that psychiatrist observes facial expressions of his patient closely. Sometimes director and cameraman do such adjustment so that viewers see both actors at the same time. I think that's why they have done it.

I think, Dr Agashe will make sure that he consulting room scene is lifelike & correct . His word will be final in such matters.

Hi friends, looks like Rudram has started off with a bang. Saw all the episodes back to back yesterday, and I was literally stunned 😲 What powerhouse performances by Mukta and Vandana Gupte 👏 In fact each and every character is being played out beautifully. The writing is amazing and so is direction. I was really feeling very sad after SP stopped relaying Agnihotra, but now I have got something to look forward to everyday

NJ you had asked about Mohan Agashe being a psychiatrist...seems he caught the acting bug while at medical college...Wiki has all the info wrt the same...in fact even now he is the principal investigator for an Indo-US joint project on cultural disorders of fatigue and weaknesses.

My purpose of watching this serial is the acting by the stalwarts...their dialog delivery and body language...It doesn't matter to me if its a repetitive story of a revenge or whether its adapted from an english novel/movie...its an absolute treat to watch Mukta, Vandana Gupte, Dr.Mohan Agashe and all of them.

@Vidya - I did read about Mohan Agashe on wiki later.. someone just randomly told me the other day that he is a psychiatrist in real life too so just wanted to confirm.

In all the English serials they show patient sitting or rather lying down on psychiatrist's coach 😆
