I am sure many people have seen Blue Jasmine here. I loved it very much and watched it a few times. This Woody Allen movie, starring Cate Blanchett in her second Oscar winning role, has a lot of potential to be adapted to an Indian setting.
If this movie were to be remade in Hindi, who would you cast for the following characters?
Jasmine (Cate's role - 40+)
Ginger (Sally's role - 30+)
For Jasmine's role: Sridevi, Tabu, Urmila, Kajol are viable options. Each of them can look regal while enacting the psychological complexities well. Ideally, Ash would be perfect - look filthy rich, have the sophistication and sensibilities but she will fail to bring the psychological complexities.
For Ginger's role: Kareena, Vidya, Rani, PC. Although these are all competent actresses, I am bucketing them in this category to maintain the age difference with the choices above.
