Here's my edit for Mr. CutiePie Maheshwari. 😳 I could make only one. But have put the best of my efforts into it. ❤️

Eyes that twinkle with unknown mischief, a smile that can light up an entire rehearsal hall, moves that hold their own on any and every stage, words that express unconditional love and respect for those who deserve it and actions that exhibit absolute dedication and determination. The last four odd years have introduced us to these qualities and more in the young man who is now special to all of us in our own different ways, and whose janamdin we're celebrating here today. Here's to Shantanu Maheshwari turning a happy 24, and here's to many more such birthdays to be celebrated here among those who love him not just as Swayam, the eternal lover boy, but also as Shantanu, the sincere, talented and intelligent young man who danced his way into our hearts in such a manner that he's going to stay in them for a long, long time to come. Thank you for being a part of our lives for nearly four years, Shantanu, from "Monday to Friday at 7 pm only on Channel V", and Happpyyy Birthdayyy!!!

2,SCHOOL LIFE

Shantanu did his schooling from St. Joseph's college , Kolkata and learnt dance at Anurag Dance Centre,Kolkata under the guidance of his mentors Anurag Mohta and Subrata Roy. He won various inter-school dance competitions at the state and national level as well in his school days. Shantanu shifted base to Mumbai in 2009 to explore his horizon as a dancer. In Mumbai he joined HR College of Commerce and Economics and thereafter became a part of a crew called Street Soul Dance Crew' (SSDC) .He also participated in some popping battles along with crewmate Nimit,various solo dance competitions and ended up winning most of them .On the other hand SSDC as a team also won various inter-college street dance championships. Shantanu who was already pretty good in Bollywood, folk dances became equally versatile in the genre of hip-hop too especially locking-popping, liquid waving. Shantanu participated in the 1st ever Channel V india-Fest solo dance competition Footlose' in 2011 and went onto win it defeating the likes of some brilliant dancers from all over India. His crew SSDC became the champions in the group dance category. Winning the solo championship brought him into the limelight and thereafter he was chosen to play the role of Swayam in D3.

3.Television Career

Swayam is best described in two simple and by now very familiar words: lover boy. He is every girl's dream come true: so unconditional in his love for Sharon that it was a wonder how she didn't fall for him sooner. He saw, felt and breathed her as so central to his existence that his entire personality was defined by his love for her. As we accompanied him on his journey through the years, we uncovered more layers and more shades to him, brought out to perfection by Shantanu, who lived Swayam in a way no one else could have. He made us believe in Swayam and wish that the character actually had real counterparts in the world around us! And even though Swayam might be one of the most tampered-with characters on D3, Shantanu made sure that we loved him even through his most confusing times. He is, therefore, also the reason why we still love him more than ever today.

YHA Dubbing(Ayush)

 Dubbing as Ayush for an episode of Yeh Hai Aashiqui was our first experience of Shantanu stepping out of Swayam's shoes, albeit in sound and not visuals. Holding up his end in enacting the love story of Ayush and Prakriti, caught in the midst of riots at a railway station and finding a sanctuary in each other through the intense situation, Shantanu emoted and performed with his voice and we all watched the episode just to hear him and Vrushika!

 The first time we were readying ourselves to watch Shantanu visually don the garb of a character other than Swayam, one unanimous question resounded: will we really be able to leave Swayam behind when we see him again? It is entirely to his credit as an actor that we were able to do that, and how. Rahul was a revelation in terms of what Shantanu could do if given the right scope to perform. Before our eyes, he transformed into the young boy driven to bitterness and despair by a terminal illness that was slowly killing him, found hope and happiness in a fellow-sufferer and finally found love and peace through her. His portrayal of Rahul was so convincing and the character's nuances so well executed that he reaffirmed and deepened the pride we always had in him, as an actor with tremendous potential.

 A little more than a week from now, we'll be watching Shantanu appear on our screens again, this time under Palki ma'am and the old D3 team's tutelage in a new episode of Yeh Hai Aashiqui as Shaan. Though very little has been revealed about his character so far, we're all superbly excited to see what he'll be offering us now with his performance as a law intern!

4. Shantanu the Performer:

Shantanu's popularity as Swayam got him invitations at various events from all across India namely Kolkata, Hyderabad, Goa, etc . One look at those videos will tell you how easily he manages to entertain the huge crowd which turns up to catch a glimpse of him as the bouncers keep on struggling to maintain decorum. His events be it solo or the ones with co-star Vrushika always have been privy to his high -energy performance , interacting with the crowd and making kids to elders dance on-stage along with him amidst the audience chanting his name in chorus out of excitement. Shantanu along with his costar Macedon has conducted few dance workshops in Goa, Indore and Mumbai which were attended in huge numbers and we wish to see Shantanu conduct more such dance workshops too.Shantanu along with acting and dancing is someone who takes keen interest in learning the various technicalities behind the camera and wishes to learn the different aspects of the filming process.

5.Achievements Beyond Screen: -

Along with lighting up our screens every time he made an appearance, in 2014 Shantanu also gave us many opportunities to appreciate him and be proud of him for several accolades and moments in the spotlight.

The concept of Box Cricket League as a cricket tournament for television industry stars took off with a bang with the inaugural season being a huge success, where Team Ghaent Punjabis won the trophy. Shantanu, who has always been vocal about his love for the game, and Vrushika were both members of the team. Shantanu played a vital role and contributed majorly towards the team's success as the team's wicketkeeper batsman a la MSD in the #7 jersey, hitting a century too! In the recently concluded second season, Shantanu was part of the franchise which had been renamed Chandigarh Cubs. Though form eluded him this time, opponent teams always regarded him with respect.

-Nomination For Indian Telly Awards along with Macedon

Shantanu earned a nomination at the Indian Telly Awards in September 2014 for Best Choreography along with Macedon DMello for Alvida - one of their personal favourite pieces as they themselves put it and one of their most heart-touching pieces of choreography too. Though they did not finally win the award, like Shantanu said, the nomination itself was worth a lot.

The crowning glory for all us fans was the Indian Television Academy Viewer's Choice Award for Favourite On-screen Jodi that Shantanu Maheshwari and Vrushika Mehta won in 2014. Shantanu along with Vrushika also made us proud by adeptly hosting the first segment at the awards night. The two of them became the first actors from Channel V's fiction line up to win an award...and it was justice long overdue and recognition well deserved, for the talent, hard work and resilience that both of them had put in against massive odds. We hope and earnestly pray that this be just a beginning of many more accolades to come for Shantanu as well as Vrushika. In October 2014, Shantanu and Vrushika were featured in GR8 Magazine, India's leading television magazine, which was yet another indicator of the growing popularity that the two of them were garnering in the industry. Come November, and the magazine cover with Shantanu holding his ITA trophy along with Vrushika is one that every VruShan fan will preserve in their memory for eternity.

UK-based columnist Mr. Asjad Nazir, who writes for the Eastern Eye newspaper, is well-known and respected by celebrities for carrying out popular Twitter-based polls on the entertainment industry - television and Bollywood alike. Based on the poll he conducted last year on the Hottest Indian TV Jodi, Shantanu and Vrushika (SwaRon) stood a glorious 3rd in an elite list, which surprised and impressed many since they came from a non-GEC show. In the annual Sexy List male category, Shantanu made his entry into the top 50 in his first attempt itself, ranking commendable #23 amodst well established Asian public figures.

This New Year gave us a beautiful kickstart in the form of Shantanu and Vrushika hosting an entire episode of the popular TV show Saas Bahu aur Betiyan on Aaj Tak. VFest'15 Zonals Pune Channel V's popular and prestigious annual IndiaFest 2015 saw Shantanu and Vrushika take over as very welcome hosts at the Pune zonals. The reaction from the packed crowd as they watched their favourite lover boy in action on stage as host for a change, stands testimony to the height of craziness and love that fangirls hold for Shantanu. From breaking into an impromptu jig on popular mass numbers to carrying off the typical SwaRon nok-jhok with Vrushika on stage and also welcoming guests and participants along the way, Shantanu was calm personified without losing any of his trademark charm that had girls swooning the way it always does.

 TSI Merchandise: 

Where December brought us news of D3 shutting down, it also announced that Shantanu Maheshwari had been selected as the first Teen Sensation of India, which meant that he became the first actor from the entertainment industry in India to have his own range of merchandise. As he put it - "This was a medium of getting closer to well-wishers and connecting with them," which is now possible through things that can be a part of our daily lives with Shantanu etched onto them, ranging from notepads, laptop and mobile covers to pillows, mugs, keychains, bookmarks, coasters and more!
