In what became a historic outcome in Delhi Assembly Elections 2015, Arvind Kejriwals Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged triumphant with an absolute majority - clinching 67 out of 70 seats in the fresh polls held on February 7, 2015. The AAP simply demolished the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and their so-called (Narendra) Modi-wave and also condemned the former ruling party - Indian National Congress (INC) - into a resplendent space of insignificance.
The BJP had positioned former Anna Hazare aide Kiran Bedi as their chief ministerial candidate and also roped in AAP's former National Executive Shazia Ilmi. But the leadership of BJP's Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speeches failed to survive the test in the elections. The BJP managed to win just three seats from the constituencies of Vishwas Nagar (Omprakash Sharma), Rohini (Vijendra Gupta) and Mustafabad (Jagdish Pradhan). The humiliation is such that the BJP cannot even claim the seat of Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. The real work for AAP begins from St. Valentine's Day (February 14) and we bring you a dialogue that Kejriwal has probably told his comrades before they stepped on to the battlefield. The 46-year-old is believed to have taken a leaf out of a famous Bollywood actor's extensive collection of dialogues from his films, whose roots lie in this very city where the IITian is battling against corruption.
Yes! We are talking about Shah Rukh Khan, who was born in Delhi and lived there before establishing himself as the nation's leading actor in Mumbai. Kejriwal is said to have taken inspiration from SRK's movie Chak De! India and modified the 49-year-old's dialogue to suit his own needs.
Kejriwal is believed to have said the following in the final meeting with his fellow party members before the AAP kicked off their Delhi election campaign, "Sattar (70) seat, sattar seat hai tumhare paas! Shayad tumhare zindagi ke sab se khaas sattar seat. Aaj tum aacha khelo ya bura, yeh sattar seat tumhe zindagi bhar yaad rahenge. Toh maine socha hai ki...is Assembly elections mein tumhe kaisa khelna hai aaj mai tumhe nahi bataunga balki tum mujhe bataonge, khel kar. Kyunki mai jaanta hun ki agar yeh sattar seat, iss party ka har player zindagi ki sabse badiya politics khel gaya, toh yeh sattar seat, khuda bhi tumse wapis nahi maang sakta. Toh jao, jao aur apne aap se, is zindagi se, apne khuda se aur har uss insaan se jisne tumpar bharosa nahi kiya... apne sattar seat cheen lo!"
