The dream team:
The show has the crme de la crme of the industry recreating history . Manoj Joshi, who has become synonymous with the character of Chanakya in the last 15 years, will be seen as the royal advisor to Emperor Ashoka.While Siddharth Nigam will play the young Ashoka, other veteran actors, including Sameer Dharmadhikari and Tej Sapru, also appear in historical avatars.
Visual effects:
The show has gone techno-creative with the use of high-end VFX. The intense visuals have been captured with a film camera, with VFX quality highlighting minute details. Prominent amongst all is a lion, which will be equated with Emperor Chandragupta Maurya.
Ashoka and his antics:
An award-winning gymnast, Siddharth Nigam has breathed life into the character of Ashoka. He has executed difficult stunts with lan, and his raw appeal and entertaining antics will stand out.
Elaborate War Sequences:
The famous battle of Buzkashi on horses, fought between Sridevi and Amitabh Bachchan in Khuda Gawah, will be recreated by Ankita Sharma (seen as Noor Khorasan) and Sameer Dharmadhikari (seen as Emperor Bindusara). The cast and crew shot the sequence with over 300 horses in Jaisalmer, in five degree temperature, for eight hours.
Keeping up with international standards:
Art directors and creative minds Nitin Desai and Omung Kumar had long meetings to ensure that the set takes the viewers back to the era of Ashoka. Master storytelling, stunning visuals, awe-inspiring acting and dedication to detail have made the show believable and at par with international counterparts.
