Nishu's family will have problem with the rishta between Viraj and Nisha as the belong to different cast...they both are from rich families but nisha is Jain cast and viraj a rajput( royal family)...
and for most of indian people (especially of older generation) more than financial status (which is considered secondary) , they care about cast which will be considered as major priority during marriage proposal.

Ok.. It's NOT related to caste here.
Being a Rajput means belonging to a clan where male lineage matters. A guy would automatically inherit his father's property, name & title. Rajput literally translates to 'Raja- putra' (son of a king).
Rajputs can be found in Hindu, Sikh & Islam cultures. Viraj follows Hinduism. Hinduism is a religion.

BUHHHT... Nisha follows Jainism. That's a SEPARATE RELIGION!! And this is where Grandpa would object. Viraj's family's religious practices are completely different than that of Nisha's family. So this is going to be an inter-religious clash (not inter-caste clash)- like a Hindu guy marrying a Christian girl or vice versa.. 😊
I hope I helped. Jainism is not a "caste" here. Their caste is Gangwal. They are not Hindus. Jainism is minority RELIGION in India- hence the confusion. 😳

sorry to inform you Jainism too is part of Hinduism as you all would have noticed that during dolly's marriage they did Ganesha puja and also when the pharas were done it was agni its that they follow the saint Mahavira preaching and are very strict vegetarians they do not consume onion and garlic and some of root vegetables too but rajputs were from warrior race and loved doing hunting too and are non vegetarian .thats why nisha and viraj marriage may face problems jainsim ,Buddhism and Sikhism all are Hindus only thing is they follow the preachings of there faith and they are not different religion they all celebrate navratri also and diwali .

^^ I completely disagree with u Nirmita. I belong to a minority religion from India- which is not Hinduism.. So I can completely identify with all this. 😛 and just because Jainism, Sikhism, Budhism, etc are minorities- that doesn't mean They belong to Hinduism.
People in east Asian countries like Hong Kong, China, Nepal follow Budhism- are they Hindus?
Or in Punjab- u will see majority of Sikhs- they aren't Hindus..ask ANYONE!! And just because they celebrate Diwali- they don't celebrate it for the same reasons. On the same night that Hindus celebrate Diwali, Jains celebrate a festival of lights to mark the attainment of moksha by Mahavira and Sikhs celebrate Bandi chor diwas. So they have DIFFERENT reasons to celebrate Diwali. Sikhs & Jains aren't celbrating the return of Lord Rama.
Ganesha is a symbol of good luck... Anyone can worship Him.. He's my FAVORITE of all Gods & I keep an idol of him by my bedside- even though my religion doesn't allow me to (I don't care about religious practices 😆 or what's allowed & not allowed). Sorry for deviating from topic 😆 Ganesha is a symbol of commercial luck (like Kubera) in Jainism & that's why he's worshipped by Gangwals on certain occasions. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganesha_in_world_religions

I understand the confusion as 'Jain' is a surname in Hindus like Mohit Jain.. That's a surname. Here, Nisha's family follow Jainism- they worship Mahavira like u said.. And that's a SEPARATE religion. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jainism_and_Hinduism

I am actually from north India 😆 I have spent 20+ years in Punjab! And I am a PhD in religion & political studies from PU - that's Punjab university, located in Chandigarh. Degree dekhni hogi toh PM me 😉 And then I left India and now I am living in USA (west coast, California). And I am studying history of Native American culture & their connection to Asian cultures.. Wooh! Ok enough introductions..
And I will still stick with what I said before. If you don't want to believe me- GOOGLE it.. 😛 I tried to present whatever evidence I could to prove my point. It's a fact. CHALO forget all this- IFFF We go by what u believe, then there will only be 3 religions in the entire world- Hinduism Christianity & Islam. I love the unity u are pointing to 😳 but we can't be ignoring other religions just because they are minorities- it's disrespectful. Bass.. I won't be replying to this post anymore. I have shared what I have learnt for 6+ years from professors with years of experience from all over the world 😃
