For he knows that she is his soulmate...
However much she denies...
Her realization that he too underwent a similar upheavel but his reaction was unprecedented given his temperament... helps her to understand the tremendous amount of stress and burden that he had carried all along.. It makes her realize that he too needs her support and both rely on one another for it.

Let me tell you why I had posted the pug with sunglasses that had two tints...
This is my perception of what you would have written...
The pug in your story is named Shadow...
It was quite attached to both Arnav and Khushi though it is a family dog.
Shadow of the family is cast on these two and these two are severely affected.
The coloured glasses in two shades showed two different perspective.
Though connected by other colours they are from the extreme ends of the light.
Thus Arnav and Khushi both are bound even if they are of divergent stream.
The shadow cast upon them connects them and binds them...😉
