I am very good at remembering birthdays of stars. And I remember quite distinctly, Shraddha's birthday was listed as 1987 for many years before she hit the big time with Aashiqui 2 last year.
And then all of a sudden her Wiki page said 1992 - making her 5 years younger 😲
Immediately I knew the reason why. Look, they want her to seem the same age as Alia Bhatt (1993). But really she belongs to the age group of Deepika (1986) Sonam (1985) Kangana (1987) Sonakshi (1987) etc.
I think because her film career didn't get off to a great start, maybe she/her team felt like those early years were "wasted" - and they want her to have a sort of "rebirth".
If we look back at her filmography. Her first film was released in Feb 2010. And at the time she was listed as being born in March 1987 - that would make her almost 23 at the time of release. But with her New birthdate, that would make her 17. And what about when she signed the film - 16? Even a year before that, she was seen attending glitzy parties in Btown - and I doubt she was 15 years old then.

Well it's nothing new, an actress lying about her age. Even until this day, Raveena pretends she was born in 1974 - when in fact she was born in 1970. I remember asking her on Twitter and she replied "74" lol. Well I suppose she had the same reason - she wanted to be seen in the same age-group as her rivals Karisma (1974), Kajol (1975), Urmila (1974), Divya (1974) etc.
