ramanchi.

ramanchi.

this one has nothing to do with the current episodes, nor does it involve deep thought of any kind, just this too good looking guy. did an edit... posting here. please tell me sunday felt better because of this.

aaargh, just look at him.

just to make sure i had no confusion later as to what this edit was about, i named it 96 hotness. that was some episode and sanaya was fabulous too... to use sohara's word, fantabulous (reminds me of calcutta of yore...). oh the nahiiin and the palat and the pagalpan. no one can ever age or wrinkle while watching this iss pyaar ko dirama.

258 took us straight to the phone call. i am tempted to capitalise the "the" here. what a beautiful and utterly sexy way to tell the one you adore that you actually, er... um... don't cry, please mat roh... you actually love her.

she of course, instantly cried and lovely tears flowed and floored. he almost choked up too. and he still looked all asr. tender, worried, filling with the need to love, eyes deeply emotional, perhaps a little lost even, but stance a hundred and one asr.

this was their phone call. no one could speak beautifully of love like that over ordinary phone lines... nor of irritation, anger, frustration, hate... those phone calls of theirs... what was really happening in them? the visuals swam before my eyes, coming together, coalescing, breaking up, spreading again joining up... a whole string of them like those pearls... what strung it all together?

a long, languorous vm tries to find out. it is 7 minutes and 40 seconds long, so if you have something on the stove or a deadline waiting, or he's waiting to find out "haan ya na", maybe you shouldn't see it right now... but at some point, please do see. i loved making it... you might like it too. the sensuous and powerful voice of atif aslam in the background.

kate, thanks for your help with the episodes.

😕

sorry, right now there's no way to access my vms because the kahani of blocking continues. maybe some day good sense will prevail and fans will be allowed to express their joy with a completely non commercial yet utterly precious piece of work... no matter what, i shall always have the emotional copyright for iss pyaar ko... so will you. and nothing can infringe upon it... for it stays in the dil... a fabulous vm... hamesha 😳

my very poor translation.

asr: khushi kumari gupta, i'm not letting you breathe in peace so easily.

asr: don't you ever, ever do this to me again, d'you understand? do you know for how long i have been trying to call you! why didn't you pick up the phone, i was so worried!

khushi: must be amma, babuji! hello! i was waiting for your call! you haven't slept as yet?
asr: what?!!

asr: khushi... khushi, talk to me! are you alright? where are you!

asr: if you're done with talking rubbish, then listen carefully!

khushi: i am absolutely ok... i am at the temple. you don't have to be concerned...

asr: it's not about concern!

khushi: arnav singh raizada!

asr: what the!! why is khushi's phone busy!

asr: i mean... there's so much work to be done, how can you leave like this suddenly!

announcer: the dialed number is busy now.

khushi: who knows who the lord governor is talking to now... and that too just when i need to talk to him!

asr hears her line is busy: she must be talking to her fiance! (note gritted teeth)

asr disconnects his phone. a call where nothing is said...

asr: khushi, i love you.

khushi: first you put it down... then i'll again say, "no, first you put the phone down..." then you'll again say, "no, first you put the phone down..." are you from lucknow or not?!!  and why are you quiet now!
(refers to an old joke about the highly courteous folk of lucknow who carry on with elaborate courtesies such as letting the other person get the first chance... so, you first... no, you first ... carries on while trains planes buses spaceships are missed.)

asr pretends to be akash.

khushi embarrassed: jeeja ji... that...

asr laughs meanly.

asr: i keep track of all that's going on with you.

asr: she must be sleeping... in some taekwondo pose.

the song

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

tu har ghadi, har waqt mere saath raha hai
every hour, all the time, you've been with me

haan yeh jism kabhi door klabhi paas raha hai
yes this body has been at times far at times near

jo bhi gham hain ye tere unhen tu mera pata de
whatever are your sorrows give them my address

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

mujhko to tere chehre pe ye gham nahin jachta
on your face this sadness doesn't appeal to me

jayiz nahin lagta mujhe gham se tera vasta
doesn't seem right a relationship between you and sorrow (sadness)

sun meri guzarish, isse chehre se hata de
listen to my plea, remove it from your countenance

kuch is tarah, teri palkein meri palkon se mila de
a bit like this, let your lashes meet mine

aansoo tere saare meri palkon pe saja de
arrange all your tears on my lashes

Ooh my god.. umm devi maiya.. Indi di that song is another personal favourite of mine ..same album as Hum Kis galli ja rahe hain (long personal stories behind these) .. I seriously even debated between Hum kid gali ja rahein hai for my VM or this song.. I haven't seen the VM yet.. but can't wait for some peace and quiet..
The dialogues and scenes you mention have me reeling from the onslaught of memories.

Wanted to talk about the perhaps slightly less talked about phonecall before their remarriage.. I thought that was very cute. There chance at acting cheesily in love boyfriend girlfriend.. She wanting some filmi style pyaar bhari baatein.. And Barun's smile after he had teased her. The perfect mix of being shy and delighted and also a glimpse of I am a boy and this wonderful girl is mine.

Long back I wrote in one of my earliest posts.. that the later sequences were great but initial ones somehow more impactful, intense. When I saw this scene I thought it is actually like life. Every relationship can not always be young with rabba veys and dori snapping and hair grabbing and picking up in arms and pulling close by turning that wrist expertly.. usually the relationships reach an equilibrium and if the datum level is made of such blissful moments isn't that a truly lovely gift from life? Serenity and certainity knowing you belong to someone. Letting go and not having to fight with life because for once you have closeby the essential person that makes breathing easy. You can simply let yourself relax and enjoy.

i have a deep philosophical question here.

why not.

indi 👏 beautiful piece...

marvelous portray of their feelings...last couple of minutes were the most beautiful ones...their raw and vulnerable expressions and delivery of them was the most superb form ever...

Family had me too, very natural ...so much worries as he didn't call his di...or anyone to let em know how is he? and where is he?

Khushi and her silent walk away from family is my grabber as she is in family but first time she is making him his private responsibility...only them now...beautiful perception and portrayal...

Thnx and love the top edit 👏 my comments are in between

thanks, faiqa,

glad you had a good time reading my bakbak... really this was a lovely episode only for that call... something totally pure and pristine about it.

like that point you make about him caring like h about what happens not only to di but to khushi as well... yeah they have become his two most imp people... awww.

Inshallah I always always agree. If it is not there bhere is the phun? (P.S am glad you said it. So am not completely crazy to think these things should always be there)

let me rephrase it to cannot 'only' be these things. Trust, comfort..  gradually come into play.

Very sweet take of a very sweet episode. And such an in depth understanding of whats going on. Was wonderful to read. The beginning paragraph specially.. such great writing.. As always lots to talk about above.

thanks, rhea...

i saw the phone to heart edit of yours... it's lovely. will now read and see our twin edits. teehee.

well, i thought i saw some connection between his state and hers in the intercut scenes... i may be wrong, but there was some sort of communication all along.

okay, i ramble as you all know. no idea if i am reading right or just talking through my nonexistent hat. chances of latter pretty high... but glad you enjoyed...
creators often don't consciously add stuff and viewers pick on all sorts of things that i bet if you ask the writers or director or actors about there would be much rofling... but that's half the fun of reading or viewing or hearing something... your instinctive communication with the piece and your take as it were.

As always enjoyed reading your take of 259. Someone has posted an SBS segment from episode 104 (I think, the pre Diwali fairy lights episode) on the main forum. Its incredible how in the midst of all the goofing and fooling around, we got to see that simmering awareness on screen. As cliched as it sounds, these two were magic!😊
And your caps (is that the technically correct term, me abs clueless where these things are concerned) are as magical as always.

caps, yes... i think from captures he he... i had no idea of words like this... mu, wu, cv, pm... how much one had to learn to become part of this wild world or should i say ww. don't mu me okay, huh.

thanks for reading and having fun. will go see the sbs... really magical... no no no... o... neir... ical.
