If he was Darr/Agnisakshi ka hero, he'd have locked her up in a room and not let her step out at all in fear of her straying not wait for Jodha to come back to him to speak up...the angry-shaking promo would have been a reality, not a nightmare... so, I think the examples you've stated are a bit too far...
At this stage, I'd still say he's more passionate than frighteningly obsessed... 😊

May be I have exaggerated a little. He is still a long way off from Nana Patekar's character, thankfully. 😆 But, somewhere I feel he is letting the "passion" get to him. Is there a line between being deeply in love and getting "passionately emotional" about someone? I mean he may be in love but still retain enough sense to know that he should talk to her plainly about what is troubling him. But here, he seems to be getting "emotional" or like someone said, turning it into an ego stand that she should come clean of her own without his asking. At any rate, his mental faculties seem to have left him. 😕

He is hurting himself and Jodha in the process. What do you say?

K sorry to butt in to your convo but you asked Is the reel Jalal a desirable husband.. I took it to mean you were asking my personal opinion.

You have every right to butt in and express your views and I'm really happy you answered both ways.

So I answered FOR ME, considering my circumstances, my life, my century, my upbringing, so I answered the way I did above.
If we are gonna compare that with is the reel Jalal a desirable husband for Jodha, than I would say Yesss a biiig resounding yesss.
When you talk about how in every track Jalal suspects Jodha, well the guy always has a reason to suspect her or be distrusting towards her, u can send a saint from heaven and if u give him proof after proof trust will shake. No Naitik will tolerate seeing his wife with another man in those circumstances and no suraj will do so either. No Naitik will tolerate his wife calling him to get naughty and then pushing him away from her literally, no suraj will do so either... Also isn't it more important that even though at times they are both at fault, it is always Jalal who ends up being the one to be asking for forgiveness???? at times publicly too???

Actually it was this going down on knees and asking for forgiveness promo that set me off - why is this guy always asking for forgiveness and then again mistrusting her later? Yes, given the people around him and their concocted proofs, he is bound to mistrust her. (And yes, so will anyone in his position.) But after so many times also, why isn't his level of trust in her increasing? OR rather, why isn't his level of trust in others decreasing? We can't always get rid of the troublemakers in our lives and have to put up with them. But surely we can ensure we keep them some distance away from our lives for our peace and quiet? Like the way Jalal is keeping MA and AK away from the centrestage politically, why isn't he keeping her and Ruq away from his personal life with Jodha?

Again like I mentioned in your other post, it is the parents responsibility to make sure their kids or teens aren't watching anything they think will influence them badly till they get to the age and maturity where they can make their own decisions.
Now if you ask me is the reel Jodha a desirable wife???? Since I am a girl, is she a good wifey role model for me?? Would I want to be a saint, a social activist, a martyr, a lecturer all rolled into one??? No, Never.

But this can't be answered by you, it has to be answered by the guys 😆 Who knows what they want? Jalal seems to want her like this and passionately at that.
Thanks 😆

Dunno abt that mental stranglehold , Radhika, hasnt Jodha always been given freedom to do as she pleases & Jalal has given in to her wishes, & even if what u say is true , isnt the viceversa true too, Jalal seems to be mentally & emotionally too very much affected by Jodha. 😊

Lash, I see Radhika's point and what Jalal is undergoing right now is' unrequited love syndrome'. I coined this term right now. Will file patent later...lol.
But he is obsessed with the fact that she does not return his passionate emotion with similar passion. But in this scenario, if I see from Jo's point of view, she is innocent. Perhaps she is just not passionate in that manner at all... perhaps love of the passisnate variety was not on her requirements list in a marriage. Jalal can pick and choose who to fall in love with and perhaps it irks him that although he can fall for any woman and expect that woman to follow suite... this particular woman does not fall for him even though he has done the whole bricks falling exercise many times over for her...

Very good! I like your thoughts. But I don't know how Lashy turned this discussion into how passionate a lover Jalal is. 😆 Let's return to the main topic. Is his swinging between trust and mistrust fine with us and fine with Jodha? (Thanks to Jeannie who made this distinction in the Q.)
May be what you are trying to say is that unrequited love is making him behave like this? Correct me if I am wrong. So in that case, the day Jodha confesses her love, he should be more at peace with himself and her. In that case, Lashy, will he still be affected by the other inmates of the Agra pagalkhana?
