Well, I thought y'all were getting tired of her "same old" roles, so suggested to boycott her movies till you see her in a new light 😆 That's what I do too...like with Sonakshi, after Dabangg, the next movie of her that I agreed to see was Lootera. 😳

@bold: Finally, something we agree on! Such characters do stand out more easily, but that doesn't mean the sober characters wouldn't get noticed...since ppl have different taste, each person may like a different character. Some may love the quirky characters while others find them irritating. Many may like the sober and nice characters, rest may find them boring.

No i personally wasn't getting bored..I thought she'l end up wasting her talent if she only sticks to her comfort zone..Especially because i think she has the potential to be versatile😆 See, when you have the ability to silence your detractors, why not just do it instead of repeating yourself? 😆

Na i don think Arjun was recognized enough for his brilliant performance..Ppl went on and on about Pari and she deserved it IMO but Arjun's performance is underrated as hell..It was easier to dislike his role and root for Pari..So yeah, thats why i said even the critics tend to recognize these quirky roles a lot more than the sober characters😆

But, that's her choice whatever career path she takes, however she wants the curve of her graph to go. Maybe she'll take different roles, once she feels she needs the change or her current kinda roles don't work with the audience no more.

A lot of actors do the same kinda roles, but the audience still accept and love em each time...maybe Pari is just one of them? Who knows, only time will tell when and if she'll branch out!

Thus, you also are free to decide if you don't want to watch her movie as the audience. Why question her taking all the thunder and grabbing attention when she does it at her capability? If her roles started bothering you, you are more than welcome to boycott her movies till you see her in a new avatar! :)

@ bold: I don't watch movies solely based on whether or not Parineeti's in them. There's many reasons to consider watching a film..so thanks for the unnecessary suggestion! :-)

No your taste does not suck AT ALL! I loved the film too, and so did my sis! My Mom on the other hand thought it was crap.😆 It was a well made but hatke film as Himani said- you either love it or you hate it.

Ahh! That's the same thing I say about SRK ...Gosh, it had been years that I had been waiting for that one Swades/CDI/Darr kinda performance! I believe he's the most talented amongst the Khans, yet doesn't explore those boundaries as much...hopefully, Raees and Fan will showcase it!

If you're talking about Ishaqzaade solely, then I think the liking/appreciation of Arjun-Pari by the audience could've been lopsidedly divided because of the characters they played. Pari's character was more or less a victim and Arjun's was the bad guy...so she ended up gaining the sympathy, along with the liking for her character. Double advantage. Yes, this may have resulted in undermining Arjun's acting...but I believe, the critics did hail praises for him along with Parineeti.

Word about SRK..I said the exact same thing a few pages back..SRK has the potential to be a brilliant actor if he controls his tendency to ham but he keeps repeating himself and doing trash after trash, so you cant blame anyone if they think Aamir is the better actor..Aamir has really good script sense and he is a good actor but he comes across as mechanical at times..But since SRK and Salman just don try, he automatically becomes brilliant😆

Na i just gave Arjun as an example..It happened with Sushant too..I think both were as good as Pari in their respective movies..But the general perception seems to be that she overshadowed them..It helps that she always plays the more likable character and she is brilliant at what she does😆

But, you do seem to be having a problem with her "stealing the thunder" 😛 ...you said it yourself that you're tired of it (maybe you need to go back to page1) 😳

She is a powerful actor and ends up making the impact each time...not her fault she's that good at it that too while doing similar characters!

So, if you're tired of her getting the praise for doing the same kinda roles over and over and overshadowing her characters, you're more than welcome to skip her movies or, maybe just skipping the critics' reviews will do ;)

Oh, let's not even talk about Aamir, I find him way too mechanical and over-rehearsed! That connect I can feel with Shah is missing big time with Aamir...so called "intelligent" actor! Ghanta! 😆

Sushant too?
Maybe she should just do a movie with Ranveer with both of them being at their crazy best. 😆
But, I dunno...it can't be that ALL the critics are biased towards her only? They don't have any solid reason to over praise her...but if ends up occupying most of their review space, it must mean she appeals to them with enough power each time? I'm not too sure about the audience reviews for SDR, maybe they liked Vaani the most 😆 Wasn't she also praised a lot by the critics? I think she was hailed as the breath of fresh air against the same old Parineeti, or something 😆
But, its just 3 films...give Pari more time...she will prove her mettle! 😃

I want Pari to do a movie with Ranbir😆

Na, its not about the critics being biased..As i mentioned, its easier to notice and appreciate the quirky and bubbly characters..Not taking anything away from Pari but one cant deny the fact that it helps her a great deal in 'overshadowing' her co-stars😆 Anyways, i guess we do agree on the fact that Pari is a good actress..Its just that i want her to be versatile😆

As I said, newcomers in general do have the opportunities to branch out. Coming to female actresses..Alia has Highway lined up as her second film. Shraddha is doing Haider..Motwane offered Sonaksi a Lootera right after Dabangg.

And, I don't think it's always about a film just earning money..the way I see it, if an actor/actress looks at their career in terms of solely how much money their films make..then they probably have limited themselves somewhere as a performer. Sure, I'm not saying one has to do a complete artsy role, but for someone who has explored one kind of cinema it wouldn't hurt for them to try exploring a different kind as well? I agree her roles aren't flowerpot roles..at least she is choosing meaty roles for a female actor...and I think filmmakers are offering are these roles because they know she excels in them. .but I still do think she should start exploring her range as a performer. I don't see the harm in her doing that..I do however see some harm in her working with the same people constantly which can only offer her so much.

Yes, she should branch out and explore her range...and I can see why people find her overrated.. But Pari has so far managed the enviable mix of critical acclaim and commercial success, so by BW standards she's on the right path...and from her viewpoint, it probably reinforces that her strategy is working. Its natural to want to work with people who have done well for you before. That's why Sonakshi repeats PD so much, Deepika goes back to Imtiaz, etc. But yes, they can limit you because they only see you in one way.

I didn't mean that its about earning money only...but if you can get both critical acclaim and commercial success it means much more than just getting one. I was trying to say that commercial films aren't bad as long as they're well made and have a story, properly defined characters.

Honestly I find her so overrated
In sdr I was expecting a great performance reading the critics
But I felt Sushant was better at least you see him doing something different than Kpc
Ishaqzaade was balanced between Arjun and pari
Idk why critics love her
