^^ I Hope she does start experimenting with the roles further, the girl has potential in her .. In Ishaqzaade we can see a glimpse of her versatility when parma cheats on zoya.. She is a natural actress , i hope she gets a movie like lootera (which showed us sonakshi's acting caliber ).
About the male lead outshining her, she needs to be paired with a good actor for that IMO.
Arjun's characterization was such a dud in between that people couldnt appreciate his acting in some scenes as well, SDR was plain crap , none could outshine her in that, L vs RB, she was so good for a new comer here.. i do not think Sid is a good actor , so obviously she will again end up getting more praise..

She needs to be paired with Ranbir, dhanush, Abhay, farhan in a movie..

No one's taking away from the fact that Parineeti is a good, promising actress..whatever she has shown us thus far has been good if you strictly look at her performances BUT, the hype around her for being the amazing performer she's touted to be is questionable. I've said this again, she'll be what 6 films old by the end of this year? All mainstream films..5 with yrf, 1 with Dharma..all massy roles..all of her characters give off the same vibe to the point where even her voice modulation is monotonous in each film because that signature, quirky voice which Parineeti has is there every time.

Moreover, I don't see anyone saying that the three heroes that were in her first 3 films were below par or far worse than Parineeti? Not to mention, has there been a single year where Parineeti's performance has NOT been nominated at an award show? Her fellow actors may or may not get a nomination but Parineeti is guaranteed one. She's already guaranteed a nomination for HTP, that goes without saying actually. Heck, she even has a national award mention.,

Sure, her approach may be different..she needs time etc etc...but she's not the only newcomer in town. Lets not forget that. There has been an influx of newcomers over the past few years. How many of them are following the same route as Parineeti? hardly any. In fact, all of her fellow coactors - Ranveer, Arjun and even Sushant have branched out way more and they're pretty new themselves.

As I said, Parineeti is a promising actress..we get it. I think everyone does. She commands your attention onscreen which is something rare, however..there comes a point where as an audience you want an actress to branch out. People have said the same with the likes of Anushka, Sonakshi etc..so how is Parineeti any different? Otherwise, you get typecasted and a few films down the line, you're somewhat history. Needless to say, actresses don't last forever..not every actress is Kareena Kapoor where hits and flops are irrelevant to your popularity.

You're comparing a girl to a guy ...in male dominated BW. The argument just falls flat there. If you compare her to her female contemporaries, it will be better.

I'm not sure why it's a bad thing if she's doing commercial films. You don't have to do artsy films to shine. Nobody cares for art films. Your films have to make money, that's how it works. The most appreciated/respected films are the ones that get critical acclaim and make lots of money. Actors/actresses are catapulted into the big league when they get a combination of those two things.

Also, rom-coms are harder to make than we give people credit for. The stories in rom-coms/love stories are all the same...you just have to treat it differently...and Pari's commercial rom-coms haven't been typical either. SDR had polarizing reactions but it's not typical, or cliched at ALL...it's the least cliched rom-com around...I'd call it a hatke film in the commercial zone. Actually, maybe people would have understood it better if it was melodramatic and cliched and truly massy 😆

Her roles may be similar, but at least she has strong roles in her films and she does those roles well. That's all that really matters right now for her anyways.

I think SDR is a good film..I dunno why it gets so much hate here..It was not your usual cliched romcom and all three protagonists did a really good job..Or probably my taste sucks😆

But, that's her choice whatever career path she takes, however she wants the curve of her graph to go. Maybe she'll take different roles, once she feels she needs the change or her current kinda roles don't work with the audience no more.
A lot of actors do the same kinda roles, but the audience still accept and love em each time...maybe Pari is just one of them? Who knows, only time will tell when and if she'll branch out!

Thus, you also are free to decide if you don't want to watch her movie as the audience. Why question her taking all the thunder and grabbing attention when she does it at her capability? If her roles started bothering you, you are more than welcome to boycott her movies till you see her in a new avatar! :)

I liked it too, but it's easy to see why the film was so polarizing..😆

You'd never see a topic like this being opened about a male actor. I'm so glad that Pari is making her presence in a male-dominated industry.

whats the point of this post? I can say without reading the tweets that many critics have praised SidM too! so do people now want Parineeti to act bad in order to show others above her?
Sid's real challange is the Villain as the story completely revolves around him! For now he is doing extremely well for himself too.. so let them live in peace

But i don mind her stealing her co-star's thunder at all..I have loved Pari as an actress right from LVRB..That was the most confident debut i have seen in recent times..All i was trying to say was that she needs to try out something different..Where does the question of boycotting her films come from?😆 Oh and i don think she stole Arjun or Sushant's thunder..Arjun had the more complex character and i thought he was as good as Pari in Ishaqzaade..Same with Sushant..Its just that the the quirky characters always get noticed when pitted against a sober, intense role😆 So no, i din question Pari's talent nor will i crib if she steals her co-star's thunder😆

@bold: you're right..😆..but, I still feel the opinion that she's still fairly new and it may take her time to change her game isn't very valid. As I said, newcomers in general do have the opportunities to branch out. Coming to female actresses..Alia has Highway lined up as her second film. Shraddha is doing Haider..Motwane offered Sonaksi a Lootera right after Dabangg.

And, I don't think it's always about a film just earning money..the way I see it, if an actor/actress looks at their career in terms of solely how much money their films make..then they probably have limited themselves somewhere as a performer. Sure, I'm not saying one has to do a complete artsy role, but for someone who has explored one kind of cinema it wouldn't hurt for them to try exploring a different kind as well? I agree her roles aren't flowerpot roles..at least she is choosing meaty roles for a female actor...and I think filmmakers are offering are these roles because they know she excels in them. .but I still do think she should start exploring her range as a performer. I don't see the harm in her doing that..I do however see some harm in her working with the same people constantly which can only offer her so much.

Well, I thought y'all were getting tired of her "same old" roles, so suggested to boycott her movies till you see her in a new light 😆 That's what I do too...like with Sonakshi, after Dabangg, the next movie of her that I agreed to see was Lootera. 😳

@bold: Finally, something we agree on! Such characters do stand out more easily, but that doesn't mean the sober characters wouldn't get noticed...since ppl have different taste, each person may like a different character. Some may love the quirky characters while others find them irritating. Many may like the sober and nice characters, rest may find them boring.
