PS- Also AMAZING to see DP's name on top of SRK's kudos for him for that hope some of the other actors follow the same.

RE : Chennai Express:

This movie also remains,.. "Bollywood inside the Bollywood",... n' that means, the person must not also be a first time movie goer,.. but should be a real movie buff
to understand the funny dialects of Rahul,... DDLJ sequences,...and Ameetji's old dialects like,... " Line wahin se suru hoti hai,..." and those home-made pasta of film-song of Melodies,...

In all RS films, he demeans the hero in the comedy , and this time SRK is also a no exception,...it very well reminds me the movie Mr. Natwarlal,... where a body builder hits ameetji in jungle,... and also in amar akbar anthony and Naseeb in which Ameet is getting hitten and bitten in the boxing cage funnily,...also by body builder goon and a handsome police officer ( Vinod khanna, who takes off first his shirt and later his shirt in Ameet's own Maholla,.. Lol ) and thereafter those comic scenes come of ameetji soothing himself with an ointment in front of a mirror,... Lol !
Very well reminded me,... Ameet doing comedy in Coolie, Naseeb, Yaaraana and Mr. Natawarlal.

Also,.. somehow whenever any comedy comes in a running train,.. those sequences always pleases the audience the most,... dunn'o why !
e.g...
the same train comedy between Sahhid and Priyanka in Teri Meri Kahani,...
Ajay and Sonakshi in recent - Son of Sardar,..
and also SRK and Kajol in DDLJ,... etc.

It also reminded me da Late Joy Mukharjee ( digging from da very old layers of da memory lanes )
who had dropped aasha parekh in Tokyo,.. while lifting her and running,... ( Movie : Love in Tokyo )
see this clip for first one minute,.. :
But somehow, this time SRK defeated me in my guessing and lifts a nicely white saree wrapped ONAM girl ( see below links, what is ONAM )
with gajara and kajara,... our most B-loved Dipika,... and does not drop her, ( perhaps it was a religious call, this time ) under the title of,... " Chalo Bulaava aaya hai,... Maata ne bulaaya hai ! )

Also in every old James bond movies and South movies,.. there also remains comedy with Midget-Thingu/Dwarf and I guess,... the same Thingu ( woh Rajnikant walla,... ) is also brought here,... and gives a 5 min. of laugh,... Lol !

ONAM : ( reference )
( flip all pages )

Don't you think,.. RS rather should have made it rather more humorous by
replacing that term of " common man " to

aam-aadami - Mango man
and had used that term instead of a Common Man,.
and also at the same time should had shown a road side, Bill-Board poster of Katrina's Mango ad,.. and also commenting to Dipika,. about,...it, saying,...

In SRK Style :

" Muje pata nahin,.. log iitne swachchh( neat ) tareeke se Mango kaise khaa lete hai,.

kyun ki ,.. Main tau,...

jab bhi khelataa hun kabbaddi,... bigad jaati hai meri chaddiiyaan,...!

Aur,.. khaataa hun Mango,... toh,... Bigad jaati hai meri anguliaayn !!!

Ho sakta hai,... shayad , Mango-Man hote huye bhi,... muje Mango khaana aaya hi nahin !

Katrina Kaif's Mango Slice New Campaign Launch

Later,.. Dipika : ( in Tamil style )

Bokwaas band karo,... hum bhi tau jab khaate hai Rice,... toh biggad jaati hai,... hamaari Honth, Haath aur Hatheliyaan !

Lol ! Would not it be funny, Rohit !

The movie is good.Simple, peaceful and with a story.I liked the ending and the pace of the movie though sometimes I found it a bit lagging.
Sonakshi is good thus proving that she isn't an eye candy and can act.
Ranveer Ssingh is also good but needs to improve alil bit, though he was better than expected.

Chennai Express

I think people have really started exaggerating their perceptions on movies. Those who loathed Chennai Express were just over the top on how bad it was. Those who loved it raved excessively about how hilariously funny it was. I honestly didn't know what to expect. Ultimately, Chennai Express turned out to be a mediocre film. There is nothing excruciatingly terrible about it. It really isn't bad at all. On the other hand it is not that funny either. I was hoping for more laughs. There easily could have been lot more room for laughter, but instead Rohit chooses to add some masala drama and action instead.

SRK was at his worst hamming. I always thought he had impeccable comic timing. His punch line delivery and expression in films like OSO was spot on. Unfortunately, he overacts too much in this one. His comic timing is just way off. He comes off as forced to be funny. Utterly unnatural. SRK is a better actor, he doesn't need to do Dabangg or Rowdy Rathore kind of films. His satire and parody has always been sharp. I don't understand why he didn't try to stick to that style. Masala and slapstick comedy don't suit him as well.

On the other hand Deepika was a revelation. She carries the film and makes up for SRKs hamming. Her timing and expression is impeccable. Whether it was humor or emotional drama, she portrays those scenes with grace. I didn't find her character as excessively caricatured at all. Meenamma is just pure funny and charming. And by Gods she looks so stunning in traditional desi attire. I'd give kudos to her costume designer. I typically prefer western outfits because women tend to look too frumpy in desi outfits. However, Deepika in CE and Sushmita in MHN are examples of desi outfits done right.

I actually found Chennai Express more palatable than Golmaal films. But the humor was very diluted with too much other noise. I think Joker was actually far more hilarious, I was in splits watching Joker.

But all these films aside when will Bollywood make comedies like Saved, Mean Girls, My Cousin Vinny, Arsenic and Old Lace and the likes?

The Conjuring- Wanted to watch it in the theatre but couldn't, so got hold of a pirated print. There are scenes in the movie, where a girl sees a person behind her back in the mirror. Halfway through the movie, I see my mom's reflection on the monitor screen behind my back. And that's where the movie ended for me.

No idea when I'll watch the remaining part of the movie. The story till now is strictly okay, but the sound effects and the direction of the scenes are so f**king scary.Especially the clap clap!
