This show ended for me when Arjun and Ovi got married. They weren't suited for each other. I only watch it now because I am on break from school and it's what my mom and I watch together during dinner and a while after. The show is going okay again with the introduction of Onir as Purvi's husband because I think he is practical and good for Purvi. I will despise PR if it turns out Purvi's baby is Arjun's..it's not right. Why do they need to mess up this show with that? Just because they slept together doesn't mean she would have gotten pregnant one off..it's ridiculous.

sleeping around is couple's personal decision.

But dump the fiance before the altar ? Any sane girl wont do this...if she is madly in love with him that both cant control their hormones for a day.

One thing PR teaches is not to DO it before marriage AT ALL however nice your mann ka rishta is...If your partner/fiance will DUMP you at last moment...Zindagi bhar pachtana padega...🤣

I agree whole-heartedly that Indian TV shows are recklessly immoral but there is one charming show you will enjoy. Watch 'Quboo; hai'; thorougly well directed and beautifully acted by all. I love it.

I also think its absurd. They totally butchered both the characters. And I live in the west so I know the consequences that society has to face when all of this goes on. I know it very well. I used to love purvi. Let's even forget for a second about the consummation before marriage. BUT how RIDICULOUS is this - you force the love of your life to marry your SISTER the day AFTER you have sex with him?!?!? That's just bad. And purvi isn't even uneducated. Couldn't she think of the consequences she might face in the future? If ovi found out? How insane!

At the same time, while I do agree that all these storylines of premarital affairs, etc etc are not ideal, I still feel like tv shows are 100000 times better then bollywood movies. Bollywood is a lost cause. At least shows still show SOME culture that I crave but cannot find in Bollywood. I'm Indian and I'm watching and Indian movie for a reason! If I want to see a westernized movie I will watch a Hollywood film! Now Bollywood? That is destroying our culture. Shows I feel, even pavitra rishtha, though I don't agree with many of the tracks, still show the sanctity of a family, culture, religion, love, and show what's most important- a piece of our homeland.

I m so curious to know who is taking morals and lessons from tv shows? Any1 trying to learn from shows(not only Indain shows but all shows running on this earth)? I think we r watching it for entertainment and time pass. So why so much sanskari talk for the sake of one show.?

Simple solution who dont like it- there is something known as remote control. Just use it and problem solved. No need to read the update if it is giving so much torture to any1.

You missed one point that all shows with extra marital affairs and unwanted pregnancies r highest on TRP chart. And zee is not here to give social message and impress audience. They always come up with something which increase the interest level of audience as at the end of the day its a business and TRP matters the most.

The show crossed all the limits of foolishness when savita planned to separate her own son from his wife of course for the sake protection as if she is commander of Indian army, when ovi baby roaming on street like bagger taking his proposal of deal to archana and purvi and than barking like dogs that why my husband dont love me? If we had gone through all these wildest incident and torture so i guess purvi's pregnancy is nothing in front of it.. Take it lightly

When Ovi came into the lovebirds life like a villain, the forum was on fire about how Ovi should die and there were all these protests where people wrote to ZEE and EKta about bringing the lovebirds together. This kind of proves how seriously people take Indian shows. I remember a post of a very young 13 year old girl who said she could not study and kept crying beofre her exams because of Arjun-Ovi marriage. That is the effect TV shows have on youngsters. Arjun-Purvi supporters have an undying dedication towards this jodi due to which Ovi is usually thrashed out and about regarding her mannerless behavior.

Same way, some of us who have no interest in any character whatsoever, see things in a different light and have the same idea about Purvi's immoral character.

It is one thing to say things should be taken lightly, but when you see the forum and the reactions of so many people with regards to one show or their particular characters, you will know the effect these shows have on the youth.

10 years back, everyone on the forum would have thought premarital sex was a gunaah and would have rebuffed Purvi's character for the same. Today media, bollywood and TV have changed the norms to such an extent that a newer generation is more consenting towards things like these. That is the effect that shows, movies and media has on people.

If they were so much in love so they should have committed suicide. Their reaction was for separation not for the sake of morals. And why should i talk about others even I am arjun-purvi fan but now all these things r joke for me. I remember a post of a very young 13 year old girl who said she could not study and kept crying beofre her exams because of Arjun-Ovi marriage. Yes and my comment in that post was the girl should learn difference between real and reel and if she cant better parents should not allow her to follow any show in future. There r many incident when people insulted those who r playing negative character like shashank vyas in balika vadhu and guy playing shyam in IPKKND. Does it mean actors should stop taking negative roles? Still actors coming up with negative roles. If people taking morals and seriously its their problem. It doesnt mean television should stop offering intresting concepts. Either people should learn the difference or quit the television.. That is the effect TV shows have on youngsters. Arjun-Purvi supporters have an undying dedication towards this jodi due to which Ovi is usually thrashed out and about regarding her mannerless behavior. Its not only arjun purvi fans there r many shows like EHMMBH and IPKKND which have huge fan followings and they sign petition to save the show and so on. But that doesnt mean they can die for the show. If cvs listen they become happy else they r fine with change. Fans tried hard to stop ArVi seperation but they failed so what r they doing? Do you think still they r busy chanting only ArVi? There r many unfinished business in our life.

Same way, some of us who have no interest in any character whatsoever, see things in a different light and have the same idea about Purvi's immoral character. Immoral suits better on ovi. If she slept with her bf without marriage that doesnt mean she is characterless. Character always come up with manners. She didnt made deal with arjun for sleep that if u sleep with me i will bring back ur mom from heaven like ovi.

It is one thing to say things should be taken lightly, but when you see the forum and the reactions of so many people with regards to one show or their particular characters, you will know the effect these shows have on the youth. More than reaction of youngster i find this forum filled up with ovi and savita gyan. Check it if u dont believe.

Today media, bollywood and TV have changed the norms to such an extent that a newer generation is more consenting towards things like these. That is the effect that shows, movies and media has on people. Why talk about history. Talk about present.

Pari, loved your post👏👏👏. Well, if media didn't have any effect, could there be targeted advertisement.

One point I wanted to add to your wonderful post. It isn't wrong for the CVs to show negative deed or deed that have consequences, In fact, my opinion is there should always show these and highlight event like premarital sex, the consequence of neglecting a depression, kidnapping etc. , but what is serial hasn't done is that show the consequences of such action in the real world. They showed premarital sex touting it as true love, where unprotected premarital sex has grave consequences anywhere in the world. Two cases in point and both happened in the US. My coworker was active with her BF. She got pregnant; her BF didn't want the child and walked out of her life. Can one imagine what a struggle she went through all alone during pregnancy and raising a child, work etc. all by herself. It was a living nightmare. Sure, her family helps out, but the onus was on her to provide for the child. In fact in a Western concept, she couldn't have a social life other than taking care of her child mostly alone.

Similarly, a HS kid got preggo, the baby was her duty to be raised - I guess, the boy didn't agree to keep it or something. Left school to work in Grocery store. Incidentally, her mother was a divorcee, who needed to take care of 2 other kids. Can one imagine what this girl's challenge was? She wasn't even old enough to take responsibility of herself and she got saddled with an infant.

So, me as a viewer, I love it when Cvs bring out these hot topics and I hate it when these same CVs fail to show the true implications of these actions. Can anyone in real life fall in love with a preggo girl out of wedlock? That too, smart successful educated being, not to wonder why his family isn't around to find Onir married to a girl all of a sudden. Most men take advantage of unmarried preggo girls thinking that they are 'easy'. Will a preggo girl get a job, in India...actually will she get it even in USA..even with anti-discrimination laws...actually, no...maybe, a company, wouldn't refuse her on the ground of her pregnancy, but sure will find an excuse. I actually, want Cvs to show these, so the younger generation gets the right picture, not some rosy, colored Love BS...my opinion absolutely.

I walk with the times and though i would not advocate it , accept pre marital sex as a personal decision

what zaps me is changing men like handkerchiefs

ok u had pre marital sex , fine , carry forward that relationship na , giving him up coolly after few hours in exchange for so called Aai's happiness and within few months marrying another man ...and to top it while carrying the man's child simply blows my mind away

i would not say the pre marital sex gives a wrong message of values ...the non chalant attitude to it does

using men like handkerchiefs does

if women r used this way by guys to get happiness for their mothers its regarded as horrible and an insult to women right.Manav was jeeringly called a mama's boy whenever he thought first of Savita

then why is it such a thing of pride to be a mommy's girl

why r these double standards advocated

pari i agree with ur post wholeheartedly , TV is an effective media . Hell , advertisements affect , these r long running serials .
