Today Purvi was looking down at Punni and Malik because she thinks they are having an affair , sleeping together without being married ..

HOnestly! YOu are so so right! I am the "younger generation" who watches this show... And ughh this is disgusting.. Yeah some peeps are sayin that it is a show, and they were in love... SHE WHY THE HELL DID SHE MARRY THAT POOR GUY, who loves her...
Imagine being in Ovi's Position, and finding out your sister is pregnant with the same guy who got you pregnant...

But don't you think that we can't blame the media for our societal problems? The writers, actors, and directors of the ads, soaps, films are all just trying to make a livelihood. If we were looking to learn from TV, wouldn't we sit our children in front of the TV for eight hours for 5 days a week instead of sending them to school? TV is solely and entertainment purpose while schools and general daily life should give us the experience and morality necessary in life.

HOnestly guys, stop pointing fingers... If India was not influenced by the West, then they (no offence) would be very backward... I mean they still think women should not wear "western clothing". Are you kidding me? At least these shows portray women power!
I am not trying to start fights.. I am from America, and i def believe that India is trying to be more western, which is NOT a bad thing, but people should not forget their values... I was born in America, and very proud to be American Indian, but my friends who happen to be Caucasian (Which is NOT a BAD thing, I LOVE THEM VERY MUCH)... are very out there, who sleep around thinking they are in love in the seventh grade (Which happens in many Hollywood MOvies)! If you see watch Hollywood movies, and a girl is a virgin, her friends make fun of her as if it is taboo... Look at any teen shows, (Gossip Girl, PLL, Vampire Diaries) I love all of them, but they are just wayyy out there...
I just think Indians can have their Indian Values, but still be very western.

I am not rtying to offend anyone out there, SOrry if I did...

Nalonymej , they may be earning a livelihood but they r earning it through an effective social tool .

Just as we expect police to behave responsibly although they r not responsible for the flourishing crimes ...it ultimately depends on those who do the crimes , but we expect it of them , their resignations , them taking responsibility etc . Same way it is expected that TV should not corrupt young minds .

They r earning their bread butter through an important , effective media . Like it or not , movies , serials do affect . There r some who r amused and say that this false , it is just entertainment . Then there r many who watch it and emulate it like the gospel truth . All viewers want is a certain amount of sensitivity , responsibility . Minting money is fine but don't show that anything is ok ...the leads r idolized , don't show them behaving shamelessly . Here im not talking about the pre marital sex , im talking of the cool attitude to it and an institution called marraige .

@LKJCBTR- Agree with you, but you can't blame Gossip Girl etc. for the behavior for your friends. There must be a bigger problem at hand if your friends are turning their lives into soap operas. Add to say your Caucasian friends sleep around and think they're in love iin the 7th grade is stereotypical. You can't blame their race for their lifestyle and values system.

Every corporation of the world is considered a corporate citizen, and have a corporate responsibility to fulfill, especially if they are earning from the society, they are held responsible to give back to the society as well. A lot of corporation do take pride and showcase their contribution to the society.

Which Punni and Mittal were...back in January...you are absolutely right. That was an extra marital affair, on Mittal's part. So what is to say that they are not at it again?

The title itself of this topic is inaccurate.

Sleeping around means having several partners. Purvi didn't. Neither did Arjun.

Affair means to be in a physical relationship over a period of time. Arjun and Purvi - one time, even though they probably had several opportunities before and after this event.

Extra marital affair means that one or both are married to other people and engaging in a physical relationship with each other. Arjun and Purvi were engaged, not to other people...but to each other.
