My ancestors are from India but I love living in my western society.I dont ever wish to go India or care for their culture because eventhough they have some good traditions they also have some bad traditions...My ancestors came poor and in poverty stricken to this land , this western society gave us the opportunity to be successful finacially, educationally and tradition/culture. sometimes i dont practice western cultures or their norms but i dont knock it at the same time because i do not know how my life would have turned out if my ancestors stayed in India. So i will always be grateful to the western society for all they have given me bad or good becuae at the end of the day we, whose family have left their homeland for a better life for their kids and have actually gotten it must not be an ingrate. If you do not like something do not bash it or complain, just leave it and gravitate towards what you like or think is befitting to your class or standards.preserve and protect what you have but do not be kncoking what others find are suitable for their lives or comforatble with
.I respect western people alot because eventhough they are always trampled upon due to their lack of culture ,morals and values people from all over the world still want to go and park their behind in the caucasan country so they can be successful.if your counrty has so much of family unity, values ,tradition and culture why leave it and run to the western land???some of the best and top notch Universities/colleges in the world comes from the same western society with their sleeping around, beer drinking and broken family values.but they know what is more important educating and empowering young people to make reasoned decision and develop problem solving skills .http://www.ulinks.com/topuniversities.htm.
Have a Blessed and wonderful day..Peace

Well to tell you one thing just because someone disagrees with certain things in a place does not mean they are going to pack up and leave. Common sense. Plus, I'm not talking about it as if it's "their country." I think you missed the part where I said I was "born and raised" here so it's still my country. And with all due respect, because I have that birthright and because I am a law abiding citizen I have every right to complain. It is actually my constitutional right. And I am exercising it. Period. I won't even waste my time with the rest of your argument. I come to this site and forum for enjoyment. And I'm going to leave it at that.

Anyways, this thread was created in response to the characters of this show, and regardless I still stand by what I said earlier. I really wish the cvs think twice before writing compromising storylines. Purvi was my favorite, and I'm saddened by the overall mountain of decisions she has taken these past few weeks.

@ReemaRani- That's a very unreasonable generalization about western ideals and culture. Place like America are a melting pot of all the races and ironic that you call the place with some of the most tolerance valueless. You can't accredit the country or race for how you or your friends are. Rather, its your own moral compass.

To begin with, if someone is young and immature enough to want to do exactly what they see being done on TV, then clearly PR is too mature for them.
Second, Arjun and Purvi were in love, about to get married. Purvi was not sleeping around. Sleeping around means sleeping with several different people, who don't matter to you. Purvi did not sleep with several different people, and Arjun meant a lot to her. This show is not promoting nothing wrong- its promoting that sex before marriage is suppose to be with someone who one feels deeply connected too, like Purvi did with Arjun.

And to be frank, just like how some American high schools sell condoms at school, because they know the youth is going to have sex anyways, might as well ensure they're protected. Just like this, most youth are going to experiment with sex before they get married, so TV might as well be realistic here, and at least they're promoting the fact that you should be as in love with the person you're sleeping with, as Purvi felt for Arjun.

LOL!! It is true that its disgusting! But dude its a fictional show! If we all started thinking in this moral way, then no serials or movies will ever get those money they are after! Do forget logic when you tend to tune into serials and movies of any nature!😆😆

zee tv is a busines. its goal is to make money. the younger generation is not so stupid as to believe that everything tha happens in a show is real. if u see a person jumping off a 10 foot story building and surviving on a fictional show are you going to believe its true. and anybody who does needs their head checked out. just bc a few crazies might try it out doesn't mean the rest of the society who are sane will belive it. someone mentioned a 13 yr girl not concentrating on her exams bc of arvi seperation. well clearly the girl's parents need to moniter her behavior and she needs counseling. its up to my parents to teach me the diff bt real and fake. its up to my parents to parent me, not zee tv. zee tv as a buisness has no social responsibility to keep me up to my morals. if we take tv as a teaching forum then my parents, guardian, w/e around me has failed me, not zee tv

On another thread, Adity mentioned how in the Bible, there's mentions of people murdering and committing adultery, however - they are still accepted and forgiven by God. This is the cycle, we as humans, go through. We sin, then we are forgiven in some way. I agree with you somewhat, this doesn't set a good example for younger viewers. But who are we to go in follow what happens in a TV show? I guess you could consider me as one of the "younger viewers", but I know better than to follow and live my life how a character is living theirs on a TV show. </font>

Bang on sheetal!

I for one, being a "young" viewer now better to not follow soaps as a life motto. Now that's more ridiculous than the storylines.
