The hasty submission did its work though: it boosted the movie's BO success pushing it into the "100 crore club" and it has taken Ranbir's career to new heights: he now has both BO performance and the 'Oscar submission quality' tag. Mission accomplished.

For me while I really liked Barfi I never felt it was oscar material or the best movie to come out this year... And I think the inspired thing had come out right from day 2 of the movie... I remember reading that even before oscar nomination

Kahani's climax was inspired from that Jolie movie, not the whole movie. It was not an imitation; it was just inspired.

BTW, it was not Mighty Hearts; the name of the movie is Taking Lives.

I dont know .. ranvir acted so superbly and the direction was awesome.. but earlier ppl started telling this wouldnt get oscar as it was copied from notebook.. which i strongly disagree .. but now i felt that might work against it .. as some essence of notebook was there .. :(

Yeah its still Lagaan which is the last Oscar entry.. :(
