may be for khushi it is comedy always. but i am not happy with me onebit. they make her the laughing stock and let ASR walk away with the sympathy. tat just grates on my nerves. end result of all this is khushi is called insensitive and dumb and bizarre which she is not
yes...i totally agree with u on this time...their handling of Khusi has left her a perfect target for one and all...and how i hate it...but thats the way the dice rolls...khushi has not been delegated the part of keeping the humour in the story alive...while arnav has the onus of keeping the show seething with romance or anger...thats the way the cvs have divided the burdens...
yes agree eve. in fact you have inspired me to create a post and rant about this

Read my following post. I think you may have:
I know she has died a million deaths.
My question is why are they making her do this.
She is a very strong and selfless girl.
I know ASR will blurt out only when he fears death.
But I am upset with the comical treatment of this because, as I said in some other post, Khushi deserves the dignity of our sympathy.
This is a poignant moment in her life. They are destroying it by making her look so comical.
Had they given it a more dignified treatment the audience wouldn't be laughing at her or ridiculing her. They would see this girl is driven to the extremes due to the extreme circumstances of her life.
They would see that she is hurting but still wouldn't even hurt the man who hurts her. That's the beautiful Khushi I love. But they just robbed millions from the chance of seeing this beauty of her character by making it comical

I agree that the treatment should have been done better, but since there are always criticizers around, I doubt if they had shown this track in a dignified way if people would have sympathized with her.

If they had done it in a dignified way, it might have caused more serious reactions like - "What message are they sending out?", or it would have damaged Khushi's character to a greater extent as people would simply refuse to believe that Khushi would take a step so seriously.

With the comic element out here, people will still throw aloo-tmatars, but far less, because, with a comic element to it, they will put this suicide attempt of hers down as her child-like draamebaaz attitude. Like Eveline said, Khushi has always dramatized things in life, she always lives things Bollywood style, so this track still makes people say ki "Oh, this is toh Khushi only, full mad, sanka devi upto her crazy, wild nonsense as usual.

Even I am disappointed by how they've ruined her character, and I wholly agree that it could have been done better, but since Death is the only way Arnav gets rattled enough to let his emotions rule him instead of his mind, I guess the CV's couldn't come up with anything more thought-out in the short duration in which they get to think and write down the track.

B.T.W: I've been a silent reader of your posts, and like most of them! Keep writing... 😊

A lot has been said about the ridiculousness of Khushi's suicide track...like many i too would have wished that we had not taken this route to clear MU...so have kept silent for days...but...

Did she have any options? sadly...the answer was pathetic...she has been dying for months now...dying in instalments..in pieces..she dies a bit more as each passing day goes by...she died when she was forced into the sham...her drems of being a bride...her faith on her family...on the man she loved...it died a bit on her wedding day itself..his subsequent behaviour..be it her wedding night or any other routine day...his insults his hate...his anger...killed her inside...impacted her deeply..not visible to anyone...even to us as audience...but in all honesty can we believe that so much of hate cannot have left a permanent mark on her psyche or heart? His rejection must have killed her a zillion times over...everytime he does this..she dies a bit more...we never realise what pushes us towards the edge...what is the final straw that breaks a camel's back...her isolation from everyone has been marked for months...she has been really alone...very alone in darkness...and she hates the dark...and when a human being has been suffering relentlessly for months...it needs but a small trigger leading to apparently illogical yet extreme action...Khushi finally feels cornered..she has lost the strenght to fight..she is putting down her weapons..she is just plain tired...beyond hope...and dying once and for all is definitely more attractive than dying a slow painful death..dying in bits and pieces with each passing day...
The last straw...he wants her out...he needs her out in order to achieve his happiness.imagine how killing that thought by itself is...and what is so surprising??... that a girl as independent as proud and as big hearted as khushi decides to give it to him on a platter...she makes a choice thats typical khushi..instead of dying each day...unbearable when the one u love subconsciously kills u a bit with each attempt...she just cannot stand arnav doing this to her...she decides to end it all...atleast painlessly with dignity...thats the way she would prefer it...
Her extreme mind has been portrayed before too in several incidents..be it her wild dreams of throwing money in ASR's face publicly in press conferences or playing a judge to a culprit ASR..she does have a flair for dramatics...and has always been OTT...be it the juice in his shoes...or the sugar in the fuel tank...or akash's staged filmy suicide...or her aloos and tamatars in the meeting...or throwing tea in lieu of dupatta holding..or washing clothes at poolside..or swami..who in the world thinks of all this...a really wild and imaginative mind...time and again the cvs have proved that this girl has a wild imagination ...remember the black magic fiasco...and an extreme and ott way of reacting to the smallest of issues...then why is this so unpalatable or unbelievable...when we all know the extreme circumstances that have led to this...
And from the other pov...the only thing the beast in arrogant ASR fears...death...coz it has left its mark on him...his ultimate fear...the claws of death snatching his dear ones once again..he cannot stand that pain...that fear drives him insane...and today he faces that same terror again...in a way i get cvs coz a man like him would not have succumbed unless faced with the ultimate terror...it had to be something so drastic that would finally break him coz everything else has failed...
P.S...no suicide in not a joke..and have seen it at close quarters too as i have worked with an NGO preventing suicides for years...but several shows have shown it in a comical light before...if that has not been found insensitive...then why this time ??...if it has to be touched at all...better for the cvs to show it in a lighter light than to actually show a human taking recourse to it in all sincerity...showing a lead taking this way out due to unbearable pain is not a message that should be sent across to audiences...

You are right but the CVs could have dealt with the suicide thing in a more sensitive way. They shouldn't have made it so much comic. I mean if Khushi wanted to commit suicide then why wait for the the auspicious moment just jump off the cliff. The good bye note and Khushi's will was not bad and I also liked her confession to Payal in the phone, it was really good.

BAD???

Gosh. THIS IS PERFECT. Your post is a mirror to my sentiments. Seriously.
I didn't write my daily update yesterday, after the episode because I was damn pissed at people bashing (bashing as in REALLY bashing, criticism chalta hai) Khushi and the CV's, never for a second did anyone stop to think that WHY was this all HAPPENING in the first place.

But thank god, we do have few sane people here! Who at least try to understand, and they do understand!

Trust me, if I would've made a post yesterday, instead of talking about Arshi, I would've ended up bashing and criticizing badly the bashers themselves and that would've resulted in my post getting closed by the moderators and me getting mighty pissed again! 😆

Anyway, this is for you- 👏 👏 👏 👍🏼 🤗

Hey Eveline... the truth is I'm totally confused about yesterday's epi 😕...When I watched the epi, I did actually enjoy the comedy...the TV anchor part, Khushi making the will, etc. But when I considered the show as a whole, I really didn't know how to react because suicide in itself is a very serious issue. Khushi thinking that Arnav would kill her is something I could digest but the suicide thing seemed too much. And it did make me wonder whether the CVs want to show that Khushi is so deeply affected by what is going on in her life that she has gone to the extent of suicide.. But since they have treated a serious issue like suicide in a comic manner..I'm not sure whether to take this seriously or light-heartedly.
Anyways, for now I'll wait for monday's epi to see how this thing is concluded before I make up my mind. If the only purpose of this suicide thing was to just serve as a comedy moment then I think the CVs should not have done this. But if they are going to use this to show how much turmoil Khushi's mind had been in...then I guess it would be ok (although it wouldn't make sense because it all started out as a comedy). But one thing I'm sure of... the CVs seem to have aptitude for making comedy shows... and although I have enjoyed all the comedy in this show until now, this is one time I'm not sure whether to take it as a funny thing..

Wonderful post eveline and wonderful reactions everyone.

I guess the CVs wanted to show a Khushi whose smile hides her hurt ...but they have failed in that --- what we have got is a Khushi who does not seem to have the sympathy of the audience ( the vitriol in the forum yesterday was palpable -- there were people even saying she deserved to go mad for what she has been doing to Arnav). She has died every single day since Diwali if you ask me but masked it so well -- just see the pharak padhta hai last sequence and the next day to see the difference and the diwali scene and the next day...I guess yesterday was the last straw...good that some of us atleast got the character yesterday!

My take on the whole suicide thing ... I was upset yesterday too by it... but I think that SP has insisted on the comedy piece for this ( suicide is a serious issue ... they did not want young minds getting influenced I guess)... they did the same for the "sharing bed in GH scene" ... no way the censors would have let the scene through if it was not for the OTT.

So what yesterday's episode showed was something dark under a sheen of comedy... I for one cried through the episode for the girl who has loved and lost and never been loved back -- by her husband . family , sister... by someone who has been selfishly exploited by all of them...

Eveline very nicely analyzed . You've shared the deep pain and pathos a character would feel if she were to go through the experience of complete annihilation of her identity and dreams as khushi did.

The biggest proble though is what you've described is how we would have like to see or have expected the directors and cvs to treat the story, however, what they have done instead is made a joke and caricature of the character.

Had they put one half of the emotional turmoil that you described into actual scenes, the current suicide track would have really worked. I think the creators have utterly failed to capture the nuances that you so clearly explain. Thanks for this view.
