the point of me making that statement was that neither shahid's nor kareena's characters/performance were less important..

we normally notice kareena more because she won a lot of praise for that film, and had the more boisterious mass appealing role..

similarly, ive noticed people also giving shahid's role more importance saying that just because he wasnt playing to the galleries, he is neglected whenever JWM is talked about..

we tend to root more for the underdog, which is shahid in this case

but I think both their performances were equally noticed and well recieved.

But yeah agree with the rest. Both benefited immensely from JWM.

In a love story, the guy and girl are very integral to the story. Of course you can like one character over the other but it's not possible to have a love story without the hero and heroine..

Kaminey was totally different from what people expected from Shahid. JWM was still familiar territory for Shahid because he usually has played lovey-dovey, nice characters in his movies. No one thought he could pull off a gangster with a mean streak in him. Not to mention he has very boyish looks and dresses in Sonam's words like an 18-year old skateboarder 😆 So when he actually pulled it off, people sat up and took notice and realized...hey he CAN do something else.

nice topic. This movie really gave Kareena the recognition she needd. Yes she did other movies and was recognized but this movie brought her to another level. Also, at thi time both Preity and Rani were phasing out. Preity IPL and rani just phasing out. This movie gave super success to both shahid and Kareena, and think got more Kareena supporters, because prior to this I know many did not like her as a actress. People were more into Preity and Rani as they were ruiling the roost, getting the plum projects etc. Also, there was a somewhat change in Kareenas attitude. Prior she was very stuck up, and wanted too much money but her movies were not ringing in the BO etc. Now shes at at great position due to this movie, but seems recently the same attitude is back again😆😆. I guess at this point she don't care, and thinks shes achieved so much. Thiough she wants to act till shes a granny 😆😆 I think in some more years or sooner the newer lot will take over. I see Anushkas, sonashki, and some others ruling the roost.

Bebo wasn't OTT at all...normally actors would over act in this kinda role but bebo made it look like the character was created only for her...it came so naturally from her. She played bubbly characters as poo & khushi too but Geet was the best portrayal.

And have to add...i would kill to get a boyfriend like shahid in the movie. In real life who would feel so safe travelling with a stranger for so long lol..he's definitely one of my most fav male movie characters. JWM wudn't have been JWM if either shahid or bebo was missing in it =)

Ahhh so agree...I wanted an Aditya in real life. 😆 He loved her so much but never really expected anything in return. Okay confession, in pretty much all my fav love stories I've wanted a guy like the one in the movie 😳😆
