I begin from where, everything in LTL fell apart. Dutta has gone missing and Nakusha has lost her mental stability. Baaji tracks her down only to find her with Diggu. (yuck, i know!) Back at the PN mansion no one really knows what has happened to the trio. Aai saheb is spending her days in prayers. Before things could fall apart, Kala has taken over control. She has'nt forgiven Dutta but she won't let the family prestige and power go down the drain as well. Our immediate story starts from the point where Nakku lost her doll, she regained her mental health but lost her memory for ever.
aand..now, lets begin-
Part one
Baaji watches the waves crashing down on the coast. The sky was already darkening and ominous rumblings could be heard. "A storm is brewing."he thought. "Chai."the soft voice brought him back to reality. She gave him a small smile and bent to put the cup on the table. He watched her with sadness in his eyes. How could she have forgotten everything? She remembered nothing now. Baaji felt like hitting something or somebody. These days he felt so frustrated and helpless, at times it became difficult to breathe. Where the hell was Dutta? Where? No, he did not believe it for a second that Dutta was no more. He was alive was'nt he? If Baaji Rao was alive then Dutta too had to be alive. Yet, when he saw Nakusha, at times he had this niggling doubt. Nakusha had erased Dutta from her existence. And with that Baaji at times felt that truly Dutta had gone. "Sometimes I feel that your madness was more acceptable, at least you still remembered and cherished him." he muttered sadly. "What, did you say something?" Nakusha asked him gazing at him curiously. "Nothing."he assured her. She gave him another smile, "Chai thandi ho rahi hai."she pointed out. He smiled briefly and picked up the cup. She turned to leave and then stopped by the doorway.Instead of going out, she walked towards the window. "It will soon rain heavily, Baaji you better close the windowpanes."she remarked even as she stared out at the brooding sky. It was strange, somehow water unnerved her. The sound of the sea attracted and terrified her at the same time. "Sahiba.., Sahiba, kahan gyi?" Diggu's voice rang out penetrating through the silence. Nakusha replied mechanically, "Ayi." Within moments she was gone. Baaji felt like smashing the tea cup into a million fragments. He had seen something in Diggu's eyes and that worried him. With Nakusha's memory gone, Patil Niwas under Kala and most importantly Dutta gone, what could he do? "Kya re kitna time laga diya, mere vaste chai lane ka na." Diggu spoke with a hint of exasperation in his voice. Nakusha looked at him for a moment. No she could not place this man in her memory, yet he acted so familiarily with her. It confused her at times. She felt as if she had been serving tea to someone else in life. She had this odd feeling of comfort around Baaji yet with Diggu she never experienced it. "Sahiba?" Diggu stood infront of her with an enquiring look on his face. Nakusha came out of her reverie and went inside the kitchen. Diggu gazed at her profile thoughtfully. Ever since she had come out of her mental trauma, she had gone quiet. There was this impersonal distance and Diggu was not sure if he liked it. Baaji came out with the empty tea cup and found Diggu watching Nakusha's retreating profile. He clenched his fist in anger and for the thousandth time called out to Dutta in his heart.
Aai Saheb was in a serious condition. She refused to eat at all and she refused medication. Madhu ran into Kala even as she came out of Aai Saheb's room with a plate full of untouched food. Kala glanced at the plate and rolled her eyes. "Not again."she groaned. "Yes, she has refused food again. It has been three days and she has not eaten a morsel. At this rate." Madhu could speak no more and tears welled up in her eyes. Kala said sharply, "Stop it ! Nothing is going to happen to her. I'll forcefeed her if need be." With that she snatched the plate from Madhu's hands and went inside Aai Saheb's room. "Why are you here Kala? should'nt you be celebrating right now? After all your wishes came true."Aai Saheb moaned weakly. Kala closed her eyes in exasperation. "For the millionth time Aai Saheb, I did not plot against your favorite son this time. I may hate him but he has spared my life and besides I believe there are other ways to destroy an enemy than by taking his life." she retorted wearily. "Hey aai Jagadambe, mera Dutta!"Aai Saheb sighed painfully and tears started flowing from her eyes. " Aap khana kha lijiye warna mujhe majbooran aapko nali lagvake khilana padega."Kala said harshly. " Agar mera Dutta nahi lauta to bacha to tu mujhe fir bhi nahi payegi." Kala banged down the plate on the table. "He is gone, and that girl too! Why don't you get it? It has been two months now. Even Baaji has not come back with any news!"Kala hissed angrily. "Nai, aap galat bolti ho, mera dil bolta hai, meri nakku aur Dutta lautenge jarur. Dekhna aap." Kala twisted to see Babi standing by the doorway with a defiant expression on her face. She smiled scornfully, "You and Aai Saheb are acting like emotional fools. Learn to accept the reality." she said coldly. With that she was gone. Aai Saheb and Babi gazed into each other's eyes, their hearts sore and courage broken. Everyday, their hearts withered a bit more, everyday their maternal instincts fought against the obvious truth and lost. The two women cried over the fate of their children.
Mai spots Diggu sitting alone in his room and staring into space. "Kai re, what is the matter?" she asks him curiously as she enters his room. Diggu keeps quiet for a moment and then grunts, "Nothing Aai." Aai realizes that Diggu is not telling her the truth. She sits besides him and once again asks him the same question. Diggu ponders for a moment and then slowly starts speaking. "Aai ye Sahiba ko dekh na kya hua hai. Badal gyi hai puri, na mere pas aati hai, na mujhe dekhti hai, na baat karti hai. Mereko paichanti nai."Diggu muttered in a troubled tone. Aai looked at him worriedly. "Diggu, tu aise mat kar. Give her sometime and besides, I was also thinking about something else. " As Diggu glanced at his mother, she looked away. How could she share her fears with him? They may be baseless and Diggu was really fond of the girl. It would be better to let go, she decided. She statred to get up but Diggu stopped her. "You did not complete your sentence Aai. What is it?" he asked her. Aai looked at Diggu with concern. She battled with her maternal sentiments and finally commonsense won. "Listen Diggu, we know nothing about the girl. Iam getting worried about this attachment of yours with her. What if she has a man in her life? What will you do if she regains her memory?" Aai spoke urgently. Diggu stared at her for a second and then stood up abruptly. Blood rushed to his face even as he yelled angrily, "She is mine Aai, she can never belong to anyone else."
At precisely that moment, the storm which seem to be struck in a limbo for long, started. Rain and wind lashed against the panes making them shiver. The sea seemed to swell and threatened to break free of its coastal boundaries. An unconscious man lay on a bed muttering something. The woman beside him looked at him with scared eyes. Even as she watched, the man seemed to revive and thrashed around the bed. She had screamed, "Sahab!" He had known desperation then. Even as they had flung his half dead body down the river, he had sworn to return, for her. Her screams had ripped through the atmosphere again and again. "Sahab!!" that desperate almost wounded animal like cry brought him to senses. "Nakku!"he growled with fury even as he sat up sweating profusely. Supriya looked at him with astonishment. Two months this man had been in a coma. Doctors had declared him dead and yet there he was. "Even now, the first thing he can think of is her." she thought with amazement. She was shaken out of her reverie as an enraged Dutta grabbed hold of her throat. "You! What the hell are you doing here. Where am I and where is Nakusha?" the last words were spoken in a voice so raw that they took away her breath for a second. Even as he tightened his grasp on her throat, she looked into his turbulent eyes thinking, "Can this man love so much?"
