Chapter 30

The teacher approached her and stood before her desk. Komal realized she was in deep trouble. He caught her and took her to the corner of the class. He ordered her to stand there till the end of the period, he then resumed his teachings. Komal was almost teary-eyed at being punished but when she saw piyasiya watching her she stopped her tears. She couldn't let that girl see her to weak. komal stood in the corner all alone while the whole class stole glances at her. she had been punished to stand in the corner like a child. She shot angry looks at her maths teacher and thought " I hate you. I hate you Mr. Krishna Singh". Krishna looked at the girl standing in the corner, and he felt sorry for her. he didn't know why but she reminded him of pratigya. He knew that she was brought up abroad and had a different upbringing but her behavior was getting worst day-day. at first he used to ignore her but now she was testing his patience. Komal stared back at him, so he looked away. Adarsh had raised his hand to ask a doubt. Krishna headed to the desk to help him. the hour passed and his class was over. He headed out but then called komal to follow him. Guessing that she was going to the principal again, the whole class laughed and komal walked angrily. Outside Krishna was waiting for her.

Ko: yes sir

K: listen komal. Your behavior is getting worst day by day. don't act like that they are all your friends.

Ko(sneer): they are not. They all hate me. And so do you

K: no I don't. why would I hate you? nobody hates you.

Ko: that's what you think. Now can I go if your lecture is over

K(angry): yes u can go.

Komal walked back into class while Krishna headed to the staffroom. He hated being spoken to rudely or being defied. A streak of the old Krishna still existed in him.

Angad was flicking channels while pratigya was making food. Komal busted in and ran straight to her brother and hugged him. angad surprised at first then thought maybe she was upset of his accident.

A: its ok komal. It was a small thing

Ko: it wasn't small, he humiliated me in front of the whole class.

A: who? I thought u were talking about my accident.

Ko: what accident? (she then noticed the bandage)…u had a accident, oh my god what happened?

A: don't worry its quite minor. Who humiliated you?

Ko: that maths teacher of mine. He punished me.

A: for?

Ko: *telling the story*……I hate him

A: nice going sis. Principal's office, punishment in class n talking back to the teacher all in one day.

Ko: I was feeling so insulted. Everyone was laughing at me.

A: cheer up. one day you will be a important person and they will be no one. Just some sick Indians working to earn rupees while you will have dollars. Ignore them.

Ko: I don't like it. I felt embarrassed.

A: stop being so touchy. Now let me see my match.

Ko: but……….

A: shshshsh

Komal got up and headed to her room. She hugged her pillow and cried herself to sleep. Pratigya wanted to go in and talk or comfort komal but she knew it was no use.

In the evening, angad's phone sang "hello mister….its a sms…pick up pick up". angad streached his hand and picked up the phone. He was sleeping cuddling komal since afternoon. After catching the cricket highlights, he thought maybe he had hurt komal's feeling and he should go to her. but by then she had cried herself to sleep. Angad squeezed beside her and hugged her, whatever happened she was always his little sister. He loved her despite all the things she had done when she was little like chewing up his favorite teddy, throwing his remote control car down the toilet, chewing his ear once when he slept, biting him when she was having her first teeth, peeing on his bed sheet several times, etc. he opened the received message and sat up. it was from rolli. Her first romantic message to him. he didn't care what she had written but just the fact that it was a romantic message cheered him. he immediately called her.

R: hello

A: hey sweet heart. Nice message

R: shshsh my dad's here.

A: so what?

R: will talk tomorrow

A voice: who are you talking to?

R: urmm…my friend…u know urmm…an…anjali

Voice: ok. Finish fast I need help here.

R: yes dad. (to angad)….i have to go.

A: good night darling. Love u

R(blushing): good nite.

A: love u

R: yes that only.

A; so say it.

R: I cant my dad will hear. Ok bye

She cut the phone and angad put his phone down with a smile. Then deciding to trouble komal, he pulled her hair. Komal yelled in her sleep. He then started tickling her, komal began wriggling and screaming. Pratigya came running hearing the scream.

P: what happened?

A: nothing mom we were just playing.

P: ok

She turned to leave while angad cast a evil eye at komal. Komal knew what was going to happen next so she tried to wriggle away but angad caught her and tickled he once more.

Next day, pratigya headed to the temple in the morning. She stood before god and prayed for strength to care for her children without their father. She was feeling she will one day loose them. They were all she had. As she headed down she noticed her slipper strap was broken. Limping down the temple stairs, she reached the road and waited for a taxi. A car came infront and stopped. As the window rolled down, pratigya feared it was Krishna but there was a girl sitting in.

R: can I offer you a lift

P: do I know u?

R: no. I'm rolli. I saw that yr slipper is broken at the temple. Can I drop you someplace.

P: if you don't mind.

R: plz comeon in.

Pratigya sat down beside her. on the way home rolli was talking non-stop. On reaching her building, pratigya got down and said thank you. but as she turned she saw angad staring in shock. He couldn't believe his girlfriend and mom were together.

R: hi angad

P: you know her angad?

A: i…ii.. (staring from pratigya to rolli)…..she studies in my college and rolli this is my mom

R(shock): mom!!!

Pratigya thanking rolli again went away. Angad sat down in the car.

A: all the women in the world and you find my mom to give a lift?

R: sorry I didn't know she was your mom.

A: now lets go or we will be late. Great car.

R: I know my dad got me for getting that scholarship for college.

A: if my bike wasn't broken I would have taken you on that. Bikes are more fun.

R: but cars are safer. You don't bet these kinds of accidents.

A: but atleast on a bike you would be hugging me and sitting.

R(blush): hmmm

Rolli started the car and headed to college

Meanwhile komal was sitting all alone in class. She had a history test today and she hadn't studied for it. she didn't want to be punished again. Seeing the notes she began to cry out of hopelessness. A hand came on her shoulder, she looked up thinking it was that piyasiya again. It was adarsh.

A: why are u crying?

Ko: none of your business

A: I can help you if you want. Sorry you got punished because of me yesterday.

Ko: apology accepted. I don't know what I'm going to do in today's test. I don't want to be punished again.

A: you want you can copy from me.

Ko: what???? You will let me copy from you??

A: you don't look nice with tears. Cheer up but only this time. From next time you study and come.

Ko: thank you so much (she hugged him till he became red with embarrassment)

During the test, adarsh elbowed her, she looked at him in irritation when she realized he was showing her the answer. She quickly copied while adarsh chewed his pencil acting as if he was thinking. Then he sat to write the next answer and elbowed her again. This continued till the test was over. when the history teacher collected the papers she noticed that adarsh and komal's paper had word-word the same answers. she caught them both and escorted them to SS's office. SS was having his tea break when these two were ushered in. his biscuit once again drowned in his tea.

SS; what have they done?

T: copied in the test.

SS: so give them both zeros. Why disturb me?

He then noticed komal and recognized her.

SS: oh you. so now you copy also. What have your parents taught you? and u adarsh being such a bright student you allowed her too. did you know she was copying?

Ko(scared): I am sorry

A: it wasn't her fault. It was I who copied. I hadn't studied for the test so I asked her for her help. I didn't want to spoil my reputation by getting low marks.

SS: what???

Komal also looked in shock.

A: punish me sir not her. let her go

SS: ok so adarsh. You get a zero for this test and for the rest of the tests for the next 1 month. Now go

On their way back, komal began crying.

A: don't cry. I told you you don't look good crying.

Ko; why did you take the blame on yourself. Now you will suffer.

A: its ok. I don't mind bearing all that for a friend.

Ko: friend??? Don't you hate me like all the others?

A: no. its just that you are a bit strange. But don't worry I will help you to fit in. friends???

Ko(happy): friends

They both shook their hands on their new friendship.

Superb Story And Congrats for introducing Angad and Komal ... i just love them a lot! Would love to see Krishna taking care of komal bcoz she is very sensitive and also missed her dad! Wonder if Krish is married too and to whom he was talking in the car?? Ufff your story is driving me crazy!😆Anyways sorry for this late reply and i hope we get loads of Angad and Rolli romance... love these too! thanks...
