here's my take for those of you online. You can always find it on page 2.
Cv's you royally screwed up today. Thank you so much for giving us a smack in the face for expecting too much from you guys. With that said, today's episode was only good, when it should have been excellent. As I feared you messed up with the execution.
The truth revelation scene was good. Drashti was excellent. When Maan says that you lost the right to make any decision between us, you can read between the lines and say that he still believes that there is a "us" between them. Let's begin with the unbuttoning of the shirt. If Doodle didn't say there was symbolism behind it I would have never realized what it was, because Nissar you did such a pathetic job with the execution. I'm very sure that 99% of the viewers did not see the symbolism either. There's a reason Geet opened his shirt and they showed it so prominently. It was half unbuttoned at first because Maan only knew half the truth before. Then Geet opens the whole thing and gives the whole truth. Basically she has opened his heart by giving him the truth. Thanks for the half a** execution Nissar. I thought you guys were just flaunting his abs again. But here's a warning about the constant abs flaunting we always get. Too much of a good thing can go sour sometimes! It's becoming tedious. Cv's stop insulting us. We're not shallow to think that Maan's abs will flatter us every second that you flaunt them. Whose idea was this... Nissar's? This was supposed to be a serious epi and yet you took away the seriousness with that stupid ab flaunting, it almost seemed comical. One day you give us shirtless Maan and the next day you give is shirtless Dev. What is up with that?
Did I like Geet falling at Maan's feet like that? Hell no! Yesterday you show her as a strong and determined woman and today you have her bowing down at the feet of the man she loves. Maan is her equal, because they love each other. She does not need bow down to him to get him to listen. Then I liked her anger and frustration when she takes his hands off her and says "Kya galti hai meri". I saw the determination back in her. Yesterday in the precap the scene was a bit different than what you showed today. Maan's expression was different when she goes back to grab his collar after the "ek dhong tha" line. The precap version was better. During the part where Geet is telling Maan about the everything was great! Both Drashti and Gurmeet did good with the expressions. It was the reaction Maan gave after she left I had a problem with. Did you all notice when Geet says, "ek naye zindagi ki taalash mein", she looks up at Maan as if saying "you are my new life"?
My favorite line was "Mujhe to laga tha ki tum sirf mere ho". Even if Maan's reaction was not perfect today, Gurmeet did an excellent job with this line. I loved the way he said it. Maan saying "mujhe laga tha ki tum sirf mere ho" was not in the sense Geet took it in. She told him that she accepted her husband from her heart. After hearing that Maan hears that she may have loved some other man. He wanted to be the only one she loved. Plus this was a confession on his part. For the first time there was no reading between the lines, he gave her a clear indication of how he feels for her. Geet thought this was a rejection from him. She thought he couldn't accept her knowing the fact that she was ever with anyone else. But it's not. He was only saying I never imagined that you would have given your heart to someone else besides me. Maan was not thinking in terms of the fact that Geet is not a virgin, but it was the "love" part he was thinking of. He was thinking I thought I was the only one she would ever love. He wanted to be the one that only occupies her heart. Remember Maan is very possessive and protective of her. Maan is selfless when it comes to protect her, but when it comes to her loving anyone else he will be selfish. Aren't we all like that when it comes to the one we would give our lives for? After all he is human.
Why did she leave him? Because she thought he would not be able to take that she was married to someone else. So basically she wanted to free him from that burden and pain. If you guys don't believe me on my interpretation of the line then go back and watch the episode again. Read Maan's expressions very carefully. He took a step back when she said "main mann se use apnaya". And there is you answer.
Geet tells Maan about how even when the key is near you can't open the lock. She thought he would say that he would accept her despite her past. But instead he says "I thought you were only mine". She obviously misinterpreted what he said. Okay, now back to symbolism. The lock is Maan's heart and the key is the truth. Geet thought she would be able to open his heart with the truth and he would finally tell her that he loves her. But he didn't give her the answer she wanted. Therefore she says with the lock and key line "I thought I would be able to open you heart with the truth, but I failed." Too bad she doesn't know that she has opened it.
Drashti stole the show today...even though it should have been Maan. How many times did I say that I wanted Maan's reaction to be perfect?! Why the hell don't you guys listen?! CV's I told you Maan's reaction should have been perfect. But it was not. Nissar I blame you for this. You didn't give Gurmeet good direction. His acting seemed off today of all days. I'm not advocating on behalf of Guru because I like him, I'm saying this because I could sense that Nissar didn't give the right touch to the scene. Why Nissar? Why did you disappoint me? This was the scene I wanted to see so badly and you ruined it! It was over done. The dubbing was bad. I feel like it was forced. Gurmeet, next time please try to just do what you have been doing before. Don't try to give too much force on the acting. Just let it flow naturally. Barry Dhillon, didn't you get a bashing for using the word "bechari" before? Why did you use it again? Now I'm having doubts about if you guys really listen to us or not.
One thing that I did like is that Maan realizes that Geet tried to put her past behind her and is trying to be happy. Now does anyone think that Maan will go find Dev and make Geet marry him? I hope not. That will not happen. Maan is going to keep Geet all for himself. Like I said, he is too possessive of her. He loves her too much to give her up. On this part he will be selfish. Not only that, he knows her happiness is with him. But this is what he will do, he's going to hunt Dev down and punish him.
Adi and Maan scene was okay. But why did Adi say he's willing to give his life for his friend. That was just over the top. You know what else was over the top? Maan's "batao na" screaming. Again it seemed forced. Yes I know he is desperate to get to Geet, but there is something missing in that scene. It just didn't click.
I liked Pinky and Geet scene. It was very sweet. Aditi's acting is very cute an innocent. I really liked the line when she says "sir you're trying to bribe me to betray my friend?" The way Maan answered was good too. I enjoyed the sudden softening in his voice and expression. I'm very glad that Maan had the spur of the moment idea for her to write down where Geet went. Pinky agreed because she wanted these two to be together also. It's very refreshing to see positive characters actually do something to bring them together.
Dev- Meera scene was so darn stupid. Cv's could this not have waited till next week? Why couldn't this be only Maan and Geet's day? Maybe if you didn't add this scene, the railway scene would not have been rushed. The entire episode seemed rushed. You could have not included any Dev-Meera scene today. I'm sure we all could have lived without it till next week. I'm not even going to talk about this Dev-Meera love angle. That will be for another day. But today again, it was proved how low Dev really is. He talks of his wife but is giving loving looks to his college friend? This guys needs a real blow.
Here is something for the CV's....NO PROPOSAL IN THE DAMNED RAILWAY STATION!!!!!!! IT'S BEEN DONE ALREADY!!!!
I have seen so many shows and movies where they have these proposal scenes in the train station or airport. Must say I am not a fan of those. It's such a clich.
WE TOLD YOU DON'T MESS IT UP.....YOU DID ANYWAYS! TELL ME IS THE TIME WE ALL GIVE FOR YOU A WASTE?!
Monday - we better not get a proposal in the train station!!!!! But' I'm optimistic and I think we might get something better on Monday. I don't even know what to expect this time. I'm hoping that Maan and Geet finally give their relationship an official name. It is high time they both clearly tell each other how they feel.
Drashti you did an excellent job, exactly what I was expecting from you. Gurmeet, you could have been much better, from now on just let the acting flow naturally. Nissar, two thumbs down to you! Barry Dhillon, check your dialogues before you give them to the actor.
We did not like today's epi because our hopes were floating in outer space. We never come down to earth even though the Cv's keep saying "we're not as good as you guys think we are. Also nothing goes through our head despite of how much you guys scream to us." So from now we should all lower our expectations and think every episode will be crap.
Overall a good episode, but very very below expectations.
